Yes, you are right...
Türkiye do not want to join EU anymore.Türkiye is a fastly developing country in its own way.
You know European Union and USA are on the same way.
They have same values and standards. They have come from an unique culture, a whole culture. The people of Europe have same culture.
At the beginning, European Economic Community has been established between a few countries against Germany.
Then European Economic Community has been formed again as European Union (EU).
Look at NEWSWEEK Magazine (USA)'s September 10,2007 issue.
NEWSWEEK says "The End of Anti-Americanism, by going against public opinion, After a stormy break with the U.S., European leaders(Germany,England, french, etc)are forging a new Atlantic Aliance".

Sorry Yilgun, but you obviously don't know much about Europe then. There are very diverse cultures in Europe. The strongest differences being between mediterranean, germanic, eastern european and scandinavian countries - we are not one big "lump" called Europe. Visiting another EU country is as diverse culturally as visiting Turkey.

and that doesn't even address the cultural and ethnic differences between the USA and Europe as well as inside the US with it's Pacific Rim influence.
