Hi,
I've posted here before about a podcast by TRT called Türkçe Öğreniyorum, which is a great podcast for those learning Turkish, all in Turkish and very slow. I transcribe the podcasts when I have the chance so that others that are just starting Turkish grammar will be able to use them, but there always seems to be a word or two or three that I can't pick out. Here's the latest (the fifth one) I've done:
http://mithridates.blogspot.com/2008/07/trke-reniyorum-im-learning-turkish-from.html
And here's the link to the mp3:
http://www.trt.net.tr/podcast/236/2060.mp3
There's one word I can't make out that seems to sound like 'ziyago':
Evet. Devam et, canım. Sekiz on yıl Fransa'da kalan Yahya Kemal İstanbul'a geri dönmüş.
The lesson this time is all about the writer Yahya Kemal. Even though it ends with an a it sounds like Yahya Kemal'in (not Kemal'ın), and I assume that's because the a in Kemal was originally written like this with the long a: کمال, so I'm hoping I'm correct on this one as well. There might be some typos in there as well that I've overlooked.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Cool, thanks. That's actually the one problem I have with the podcast is that they've decided to throw in a lot of names of historical figures and places, which is fine when you have a text or a teacher standing next to you, but not so much for just the podcast. Besides that it's quite good though.

In fact, at first I thought you were a turkish speaker that helps people learn turkish language. For a learner, you have already made a big progress. It's not easy to be able to write down the dialog that you listen to. Your level must be good.

Funny thing about that - I've never once spoken Turkish and have never been to Turkey. I did spend most of last year studying the language in Starbucks though. I know, it's a bit ridiculous that I've still never gone there. -_-
Every time I start to think that my Turkish is getting pretty good I watch some Engin Günaydın to remind me that I have no idea what he's saying most of the time and that I have a long way to go:

There actually isn't a real lesson #1 - #5, they just happen to be the first five that I've done. I'm not really sure what sort of structure TRT is making these in.

Yeah, me too. Pabucumun satanisti I guess means 'satanist (wicked person) of my shoe', but I have no idea about most of the rest.

Thank you mithridates
İ fail to understand the structure too,or which is the first and which is the second
But if we took them as texts to practice, they are very much helpful tho.
Thank you again

ahaha Burhan Altıntop, I just love this character.
If you're curious about the dialog going on, I can write it since it's not so long.
-Üfff
-İyi misiniz Burhan bey?
-iyi olsam sevinecek misin, üzülücek misin "sirseri" (serseri)?!
-Ayıp ediyorsun ama haa, dün gece kim götürdü sizi hastaneye sırtında?
-Agrebi (akrepi) senin cebime koymadığın ne malum?
-Neee?!
-ne bilmem sizin ***** (cannot get this part) ayinlerinizde yok mu öyle şeyler?
Pabucumun satanisti! Pabucumun satanisti, satanisti...
