HELP! Understanding when to use "DIK"

Mylo,
As a native speaker, I have never used "gideceğimde" to mean "when I will go" nor have I heard somebody say it. What is you source for that? Where did you learn it? |
I forget Si but I suspect it´s probably colloquial Turkish I don´t really know.I admit it´s not something I hear a lot but every now and then I get to here it, like I said I tend to use ´gittigim zaman gidecegim zaman´ etc but, the others I have heard a few times.

"Gittiğimde" is used to mean "when I go/went". "Gideceğimde" is unheard of for me. I don´t think it is used to mean "when I will go".

That´s one of the reasons I was asking,why is the ´de´ suffix used at all? why not just use ´gittigim zaman´? I remember someone explaining it to me but it was a long time ago i´m sure they said it means ´and´ again not sure,if you natives say it´s not correct then it´s not correct you guys know your language

-de suffix is used for in/on/at
evde = in the house
masada = on the table
7´de = at 7
If it is used with -dik suffix it has "at the time" meaning.
Gittiğimde = at the time (when) I go/went = when I go/went

Thanks for the explanation Si, so in this instance the ´de´ suffix would be used as ´at´ in the pass tense gittigimde= at the time I went/left?
We don´t use it then for future tense gidecegimde= at the time I will go/leave?

AFAIK no. For me, no. I am curious if there is any native speaker who use it for that purpose. I have never seen one upto now.

Yes.
Gittiğimde, o orada idi. = When I went there, s/he was there.

I think like si++, for future, it´s either "gittiğinde" or "gideceğin zaman", though they´re a bit different.
Forexample "Sinemaya gittiğinde bana telefon aç", it means "when you go to the cinema, call me", that you expect him to call you when he is in the cinema.
"Sinemaya gideceğin zaman bana telefon aç", "the time you´re going to the cinema, call me.", you expect him to call you before he gets there, maybe you´ll go there too.

I think i remembered where I heard this and I think I got it confused,this may be wrong but here goes,
Ben gidecegim zatende= I´ll go anyway, and if I recall the ´de´ was used to emphasise the ´zaten´(anyway)
so, Ben gidecegim zatende= I will go anyway(as we both already knew)
Is this right?
If it is maybe it´s a shorter way of saying ´I will go anyway,as we already know´ gidecegim´de´?

You remember it wrong I think because there´s nothing like "zatende" or "zaten de".
There´s just "Ben zaten gideceğim"
