The ü makes it the object of the verb.

http://www.yeminlisozluk.com thinks teþekkür is thank-you or simply thanks.

so is it ok if i say "teþekkür" on its own without being followed by "ederim" on slightly imformal occasions? {#lang_emotions_angel}

 Never heard that one at all. Informal is teþekkürler (thanks) or mersi.

No, unless you want to sound strange.

It would be like saying just "a thanking" in English.

The informal forms are in Marion´s post above.

Çok teþekkur ederim (çok = very, but can also mean ´much´ or ´many´

Çok güzel = very nice/very beautiful

Çok iyi = very good/very well

It gets more complicated - you can have a look at the lessons on the site if you want to learn more.

 Because smile is "gülüþ/tebessüm" in Turkish, rose is "gül"...

"i miss your smile very much. when do i get to see them again?"

"Gülüþünü/tebessümünü çok özledim. Onu tekrar ne zaman görebilirim?"

It is not gülünü, it is gülüþünü. Because "smile" here is not a verb but a noun, so it must be gülüþ/tebessüm.

to smile - gülmek

smile - gülüþ, tebessüm
