Thanks for all the help - and those really quite obvious comments. The truth of the matter is that I do speak a little Turkish; after all, I work and live in a Turkish speaking country.
Likewise, Sezen speaks a little English. The trouble comes when either of us is trying to explain a complex issue like this crazy government's new policy on Turkey and its citizens.
Given the fact that Turkey saved the lives of thousands of Cyprus people 30 years ago and continues to bankroll the country, I find it quite amazing that we are now making it difficult for Turkish people to come and work here! Of course if you know the right people then anything is possible. Fortunately, we do!
Sezen is a lovely woman in her mid twenties and I am considerably older.
There should be absolutely no reason why we should have fallen for each other, but we did.
I'm not rich nor is she. We both struggle to make a living but she will be fine if she comes here as we have a good network of friends and associates who will help.
My Turkish Cypriot partner can get work permission within the first month of their stay and we have a great flat share deal with one of my very good friends in Girne who Sezen knows well.
The real problem is that her mum does not want to loose the considerable help that Sezen gives her, and when she has stayed for a few weeks here last summer, her mum was constantly on the telephone telling her all sorts of horror stories (mostly untrue) to get her back again. This is what I really fear!

.

Anyway back to the title of this thread….In moments of depression when we have been apart for so long, that’s really all we have; a text message relationship!
Thanks again
John

Ok i was just curious And i agree that on stuff liek this its better not to cause any misunderstandings. If i were you I'd delete her phonenumber from this posts, and request people to contact you for it, bec u never know what people hang around here..I wouldn't want to be stalked, thats for shizzle

I wish both of you lots of luck during your relationship and i understand (kind of) what you are going through. It has been so hard to get Kadir to holland, just for a holiday of ONE week!!! Even that cost a lot of money, nerves, trouble.. and in the end we turned out with nothing, he got a visa only 1 out of 3 times during 2 years Now i'm hoping to receive visa-application-papers to move to Türkiye soon!

Good luck and lots of happiness. Like Boop said: "Amor vincit OMNIA!"

Thanks for that thought and yes I guess with the sheer amount of people reading these translations you might just get some nutcase out there who would want to cause trouble....Best of luck with your visa to come to Turkey!
