Askim, I have spoken to Tolga about you and Burcin coming here to Cyprus and he says that she can work in the restaurant with no problem. Also you should both get visas only for 2 weeks and he will arrange for work permission for both of you so you can stay here.
I helped Jamie move into his new apartment and it’s big enough for us to live there as well. It’s nearly in the centre of Girne on the top floor with a nice balcony. If you want, you can work in the restaurant in Karsiyaka or we can get you a job in Girne; it’s up to you….We can do all of this IF you REALLY plan to stay here. Otherwise, what is the point? If you think that after two weeks your mother will apply the same pressure as always on you to return to Mersin, then just come for a holiday (as usual). Of course I want you to stay here but I cannot get inside your mind. It’s your choice; you must make it!
All my love
John

MAYBE THIS IS NOT CORRECT... I HOPE IT IS.. MAYBE SOMEONE ELSE COULD QUICKLY READ THROUGH IT AND CHECK TO SEE IF ITS RIGHT OR NOT..

john.

Thanks Miss Ceyda, and thanks for that comment...I'm fairly new to this site as probably know but it's quite obvious to me from the amount of "reads" these postings get these little stories are of interest to many people. Its kind of like a cyber soap opera if you know what I mean...

Not to sound rude, but how can you live together whilst not speaking eachother's language? Don't you think that will be difficult?

Thanks for all the help - and those really quite obvious comments. The truth of the matter is that I do speak a little Turkish; after all, I work and live in a Turkish speaking country.
Likewise, Sezen speaks a little English. The trouble comes when either of us is trying to explain a complex issue like this crazy government's new policy on Turkey and its citizens.
Given the fact that Turkey saved the lives of thousands of Cyprus people 30 years ago and continues to bankroll the country, I find it quite amazing that we are now making it difficult for Turkish people to come and work here! Of course if you know the right people then anything is possible. Fortunately, we do!
Sezen is a lovely woman in her mid twenties and I am considerably older.
There should be absolutely no reason why we should have fallen for each other, but we did.
I'm not rich nor is she. We both struggle to make a living but she will be fine if she comes here as we have a good network of friends and associates who will help.
My Turkish Cypriot partner can get work permission within the first month of their stay and we have a great flat share deal with one of my very good friends in Girne who Sezen knows well.
The real problem is that her mum does not want to loose the considerable help that Sezen gives her, and when she has stayed for a few weeks here last summer, her mum was constantly on the telephone telling her all sorts of horror stories (mostly untrue) to get her back again. This is what I really fear!
.
Anyway back to the title of this thread….In moments of depression when we have been apart for so long, that’s really all we have; a text message relationship!
Thanks again
John

Thanks for that thought and yes I guess with the sheer amount of people reading these translations you might just get some nutcase out there who would want to cause trouble....Best of luck with your visa to come to Turkey!
