I m happy you liked it and I hope you ll use it much. Your love about this man is well known to this community. He must be very special to deserve this kind of love and devotion.
Just, sometimes, reading his name and your personal moments everywhere, gets kinda annoying and boring for the rest of us. Of course not to all of us, but definately to a big number of this forum's members.
It doesn't matter if this thread belongs to the off/topic forum. It's up to you to make it a sticky one, with your sweet, everyday comments. So when we ll want to learn about this love's development, we ll be able to visit this thread. But we wont have to bear with it everyday, every moment, in every topic.
Enjoy it!

Hehe yeah you're right. "Waar het hart vol van is, loopt de mond van over" » Where the heart is full of something, it makes the lips overflow (this is my free interpretation as I can't think of anything better :-S)
But I always think of something because of what someone says in a thread So I don't think I'll be so likely to just write anything up here. Unless I have a euforic moment
Do you know any sites that help to learn Greek?

Hepatitis A is a very common illness in Turkey for western people. Usually the sanitaire hygiene is not as high as the Dutch standards, so my body is not used to any small kind of virus, whereas yours probably softly has been attacked since you were a child. So your body made an anti-virus system, as if you were immune. I'm not immune to it at all and could get very ill from eating food that is washed with infected water. Even swimming in the sea could get me the desease, which is more spread in summer than afterwards.
Hepatitis B is not such a common illness in Turkey, but more ocmmon than in Holland anyway, and if I'm gonna stay for a longer period in a non-western country, my body will go through major changes and will be weak. So easily infectable.
The one for other common illnesses would I also get if i stay in Holland. It's just something you get when you are young, and need again when you turn 19
The repeat-vaccins make sure that you are protected for a period of at least 25 years..

Well probably your body is quite strong against it. Vaccinations are expensive. Today I had one vaccin, my sis had one in a small doses, and my parents both had 2.. and this costs us over 200 euros :-S Add my 4 to come and that would be 2 tickets for me back to Holland for holiday
But we gonna try to get our insurance to cover it up, as doctors advice them

Friday morning I will go to the Embassy. I won't be online till Monday probably, but i hope i can come back with good news
The bad news is that, Kadir feels really bad about his exams. This means it is likely that he has to take the final resit in August. As I'm there at the end of July, that would be his studying time for the exam. I hope the rest of his exams go well so that he won't have to take it, otherwise it will mean we can't spend so much time together again. If I ever get to lay my hands on 'fate', i'll kick its ass

Dear friends,
Last friday, I got my Turkish visa in my passport It took some hours waiting in a big Turkish crowd with no one speaking Dutch, but i managed to struggle through and got my visa I'm very happy about this, as it gives concrete forms to my plans. Still, my parents are not sure if they want me to go. At least, they wonder where to get the money from. This is the reason I haven't been online much.. I'm working my bum off to save up at least a 1000€, to show them I'm willing to work hard for it. I just hope it all goes allright, but thought I should letyou know i got the visa.
Secondly, i had to sign a paper in which i said i was aware of the fact i cannot work in Turkey with the visa i received, but also that I have to go to the police department within one month of arrival, to confirm my stay and to pay for this. I already paid 55 euros for the visa-sticker, and I wonder what these costs are? I couldn't find them out, can someone tell me where I might find more info?
Thanks.

Don't trust yourselves that much, ladies.
The woman who has been regarded as the most beautiful woman in Turkey for ages (even though she is in her forties) has had his husband stolen (stolen by an another woman who is even less beautiful than her. you might know who the woman is. It is Hülya Avşar.
Women likes stealing other women's (who are more beautiful and attractive than them) men. I think it is just to appease their female vanity by implying "Your man has prefered me to YOU. It doesn't matter how beautiful and attractive you are. He is mine from now on but not yours any longer." Men go to the gym or buy the most expensive suit or car to attract women. On the other hand women do such things as going to the gym, making up, dressing nice not to attract men only but to compete with other women.
As you know very well, ladies that the part who starts and ends a relationship whenever it wishes is women. The world turns around you. Women are superior to men in contrary to it is regarded by some. I dont think if women didn't exist there wouldn't be such things as a mercedes car or expensive suits.

Absolute rubbish!! I dont know ANY women who are impressed by such shallow 'trappings' like cars and expensive suits! Most women "see through" such things and find it comical. If they pretend not to, then it just means they are after the money and don't really like you anyway
You are talking about women as if they are all preditors. They are not. There are preditors in both sexes...
I think your comment about women dressing to please both men AND women is true however. This is only because women notice these things and appreciate good dress sense

Are you tellig me you have never ever had a look at (at least glimpsed)and wished to be inside a luxurious car passing by while walking on pavements? It doesn't make you a predator.
And also I haven't said anything implying that all the women are predators. In fact what I am talking about is not about the preys and predators, but about the natures of both sexes.

I can tell you that I have NEVER looked at or glimpsed or wished to be is such a car with such a man. You have my word for that. And in fact, I "kicked" out a millionaire who was coming to visit me with his private hellicopter and was begging me to let him "spoil" me (like he said), JUST because he had so much money and he was showing off. He was a great looking guy and ready to offer me the world. Stupid? Maybe. But I would do it again, if I had the chance.

I will agree with you here. It's probably not so innocent as Aenigma is describing it. There is a constant competition between women and they would do anything to appear most attractive than the others. This is one more reason why I'm ashamed of the female nature.
|
|

02 Nov 2006 Thu 01:01 pm |
I have to strongly agree with aenigma_X here. This posting is a bit outrageous and certainly an outdated view. It's important to say we can't speak for "all women" or "all men". But, I don't have any friends who desire a flashy car that costs a fortune to be seen a "status symbol". I do know a flashy car is often more important and attractive to men.
Most women are now economically independent, and seek a partner, not based on superficial qualities, but rather spiritual, intellectual and emotional depth. A mercedes is easy to come by, but these qualities are not.
In terms of sharp dress. Of course both sexes like to look and feel attractive and sexy. It is a part of being human. It's a way one uniquely expresses oneself. Do we like to impress men, to be looked at and admired. Of course- who doesn't? But it's more for personal gratification and expression.
There are men and women out there who seek "expensive things" and perhaps a "token beautiful woman by thier side" because they are insecure, and feels this upgrades, or improves their poor self image- but my gosh, it is certainly not the norm in society.
I like nice things, and I work hard to earn money to buy them.

Yes, this is what I am telling you! Do you HONESTLY think that women depend on men for these things? I have a VERY nice car thank you, it is my pride and joy. I wanted it for a long time, so I saved my money for it. I would NEVER depend on a man for anything material. Why do you think women cannot afford to buy things for themself?

Look here This car was my step dads pride and joy and loved driving it..but because of it's lack of use he decided to sell it but when he did have it he did not show it off apart from when he took it to corvette/car shows where they would all meet up to share their interests.
And just because we had a car like this does not mean we are filthy rich or like to impress any one...like Aenigma said... my step dad also bought this car because he wanted it and worked hard for it, not because he wanted to show it off.
So not everyone buys material goods to impress another person but only for themselves (self enjoyment)

Perhaps I need to dress more sexy! |
I don't how honest you are with yourself. However do a large number of women dress up to feel happy and confident at home? (need to feel happy outside of home only?) If so, why can I see just few women in the gym during the winter months, but see lots of women coming to the gym as of March? Is it simply because of the coming season and to be fit in their bikinies? And also why don't you dress up nicely and wear your make up at home at the weekend and watch TV or listen to music (whatever you do) to feel yourselves happy.
PS. Dressing sexy doesn't necessarily make a woman sexy. She need to have some assets.

Dont make me angry !!! Listen, please DONT GENERALISE. There maybe SOME women who do this, but not all. I think it is a sad insight of your OWN mentality if you feel that all women are there for you to look at, that they are displaying their sexuality for you to gaze at hahaha!

İ agree qdemir, there are some women who dress up to draw men attention, but those are who have lack of self confidence.
Most women dress up to feel good, comfort, and to express theirselves and their moods.

Hmm, I like dressing up, and looking good when I go out. I also don't mind getting attention. No, I don't need men staring at me. But, isn't it nice every once in awhile if someone notices you. Think about this, why are some people so absorbed in brand name clothing? Is it the texture of the material or the slogan & brand name on the clothes itself? Sometimes I tend to wonder. But I am guilty of this too.

Well, I must be the only woman here who will admit...I don't wear make-up Mon-Fri. I wear sweats at home and sometimes to teach, eye glasses to class, and my Nike running shoes, I also can be seen frequently with a ponytail. But, come Saturday nite...I have on high heels, hair down, jewellery, definetly some lipstick, and a dress. Do I feel better. NO! Must be only in my head...but I look good whether I'm in sweats or some low rider jeans! I am proud of who I am, where I have been, and where I am going in my life. I have gotten the highest teaching marks in our dept. and was chosen to represent our dept. on the interdept. council. Doesn't matter what I have on...I KNOW WHO I AM! (Oh, I go train all year round 5-7days of the week. I'm addicted to my martial arts.) In short...I don't need heels, make-up, designer clothes, a nice car or anything else to add value to my worth or turn heads. I am priceless and that is what the other women are saying as well. However you dress, if you know your worth the rest doesn't matter! |

In fact I was trying to criticize men in my original post. However it has turned out to be otherwise. I am sorry if I have offended anyone. But I would like to point out that whenever men are criticized severely on here I have never get offended and take it personally.

Quoting qdemir: Don't trust yourselves that much, ladies.
I dont think if women didn't exist there wouldn't be such things as a mercedes car or expensive suits. |
i dont really know... is it good example to talk about magazine people here... their life style is much more different...
anyway i cant agree more to what you said that i marked with bold... its so strange isnt it...
all the things are around woman... but what makes woman a woman is man
womans stealing others men or mens stealing others woman is sth really with pshycological, that who never satisfies...
and i didnt quote your last post...
but what exactly you wanted to crictisize about men?
lastly dressing is really important... but it is sth like that when you feel yourself good in sth... and when you are able to give this positive energy to the person you are with... nothing else is more important clothing appears just a little part of the game
Quoting Sophie:
I can tell you that I have NEVER looked at or glimpsed or wished to be is such a car with such a man. You have my word for that. And in fact, I "kicked" out a millionaire who was coming to visit me with his private hellicopter and was begging me to let him "spoil" me (like he said), JUST because he had so much money and he was showing off. He was a great looking guy and ready to offer me the world. Stupid? Maybe. But I would do it again, if I had the chance.

i can just say WOW! to that nothing more... such an adorable person you are...

Well ive been sleeping for nearly two days (except tonight), so ı seem to have gotten over my sleep!
İm now boiling some makarna as a substitute for bread. I ran out of fresh bread and I really cant eat old bread (unless its toasted with cheese but I dont have a tosti machine).

Hmm ill keep that dry frying in mind for the next time (already started my third bowl of makarna soup haha). I melt the cheese on a plate in the microwave and then put it on the bread

Sorry to see you have been unwell recently DK.IF it is just a cold or headache as I have had this week instead of painkillers I suggest this remedy, we call it toddy.
Pour 2 fingers whisky in a glass (3 if you have small hands)Dissolve 1 teaspoon honey in boiling water and add to whisky. Drink while still warm. repeat as necessary until pain has gone.
Get well soon.
For others you do not need to be ill to try this
