Karacabey is a town in Marmara region of Turkey,Bursa province famous for its stud farm (and finest kind of cheese called Mihalic.)

Karacabey horse was light, riding one appearing black, chestnut, roan, gray, bay)It is said to be the only one typically Turkish breed.

Must have been beautiful as now this breed is extinct.Pityyyy

Anyway Libra would you fancy a bit of investigation into the topic of Turkish horses?Or perhaps there is the TC-ist who knows more about Karacabey horses?Perhaps someone has a photo of this extinct breed as unfortunately I cannot find it in the net...Karacabey farm still exists but without Karacabey breed.

Would appreciate more info)Thanx in advance.

Thanx Libra, what I learnt from"omni´wiki is that one of these horses was presented to the Queen of England before the whole breed became extinct ,they say the horse was a polo champion later, but they do not say when and what was the name of the horse. There must be some photos of this champion somewhere...anyway kolay gelsin Big smile
