Are you family from name?

 Name´den aile olur musun?

My comments as a learner till someone better helps.

I´m not sure if you mean

´are you family from name´ means place name, like Istanbul, then saying Name´den seems correct.

If you mean it more like "are you Henry´s family?´, then I think the possessive suffixes need to be used, eg

Henry´nin ailesi (not sure if a verb is needed here) misiniz?

Note I used siniz suffix to be formal and/or possibly ´you´ is referring to a group (family).

Hope this helps, till you get a better translator. Smile

I was wondering if you can use ´-deki´ in this case?   Giving you ´(Name)´dendeki ailesi misiniz?´

Quoting Kehribar

Are you family from name?

Name´den aile olur musun?

Thank you for helping me.

does "Are you family from name?" make sense in english, or do I have problems in understanding?

I think it has to be clarified what is meant here.

If it is "Are you a family from PLACE?"

Then it is "PLACEli bir aile misiniz?"

If it is meant "Are you the family of NAME?"

Then it is "NAME´in ailesi misiniz?"

If it is "Are you someone from NAME´s family?"

Then it is "NAME´in ailesinden misin(iz)?

Anyway, "Name´den aile olur musun?" doesn´t make sense in any case.

I think this sentence is a metaphorical sense in Turkish grammar

Tanýnmýþ bir aile misiniz?
