does "Are you family from name?" make sense in english, or do I have problems in understanding?
The question would not be asked this way in English. Therefore it becomes confusing as to what is actually meant by this question.
Are your family from somewhere? (Where somewhere is a place name)
Are you from someone´s family? (My guess as to what Kehribar was asking,)
Are you someone´s family? (where someone is replaced by the name)
Anyway dilliduduk, you have given the correct way of asking all 3 possible versions.
Hopefully Kehribar can tell us which question was correct.
