Re thread quoting 'may will be', you may like to point out the only time this could be correct is 'May will be warm this year'

Quoting erdinc:

They drive me nuts. This is nightmare. I wish some natives would add a few commenst. These amateurs are crazy.

I am a native English speaker and you are right Erdinc

You cannot say - 'may very wIll be' it is obviously a typo and should read 'may very wEll be'.

and as Etty points out in her post above you could only use 'wIll' in this way when describing the month of 'May'

That guy's English is not up to scratch. Ignore him; his "informed" opinions about the evolution of a language that he has not yet mastered are of little use or value to anyone.

PS We use Swan's book as a reference text in the teacher training programme at Bilkent hazırlık. As far as I am aware, no-one here is advocating the "let them make it up as they go along" approach to English usage...

'It may will be'
This is totally incorrect,it is not a phrase that can be found in the English language.
In using this type of phrase the correct way is to say
'it may very well be'

It may very well be that May will be hot.

Here endeth the lesson (biblical quote)

It may very well be, that, because I am English and studied English Language and English Literature at college, that I could be classed as an English native speaker.
