No decent Turkish lady calls a bartender or a waiter "delikanli", unless the lady is at least 3 times older than the latter.
I´d be okay there then! How about ´yavrum´?

"yavrum" is to adress your own children, and sometimes your young mistress.

I heard in schools teacher screeming to a child " YAAAVRUM" ! ( wasnt his/hers own child and not his/her young lover)

"Canim", among people of quality, is an intimate term of endearment. No decent lady calls anyone "canim", unless the lady is willing to accept the same intimate term of endearment from that person.
you are taking a very dim view of the situation,bro!
Sometimes I wonder which Turkey you live in with your tendency to categorizing women into decent and indecent Turkish ladies?
How can you explain one female for instance shop assistant calling totally unknow female customer"canim"-mutual attraction?intimate term of endearment will?or visa request??

When I go out with my Turkish female friends we tend to address waiters or bartenders"deli kanli"as my friends say,canim would be too generous for those who rush their fences in most of cases
oppss! didnt i say the word only used by men to address strangers? I see many men using caným for waiters: "caným, bir bakar mýsýn", "caným, bana bir çay daha verir misin",...and so...No decent lady should use it for strangers...to address a waiter or a bartender "delikanlý" you have to be at least at his mother´s age.(to show the age difference)..If you´re 3 times older than him, you can also call him caným. (to show the impossibility)

1. If you are Turkish, male, over 18 and have not yet met an indecent Turkish lady, you can not qualify to be my bro.....watch your language !
2. I would think she was a lesbian, making a discreet pass at the shop assistant.

I should say "caným" is often used to address strangers (especially waiters,porters,bartenders).
Better call them "dudum"
