If someone was to ask me - Neredensin?  - where are you from?

And i replied with Ingilteredenim

How would they ask, where abouts?

For my reply to be London etc.

They would ask you - ´Neredesin?´  ( no ´n´ needed there)

You could answer - Ingiltere´den (from England) or just say - Inglizism (I am English)

Could be ´Nereli?´ or ´Nerede?´

an you could answer ´Londralýyým´ - ´I am a Londoner´ or just ´Londra´dan´

(I hope I´m correct here because this is what I say!)

In fact, "Neredensin?" is the correct form to say "where are you from?" and you reply: -Ýngiltere´denim to say "I´m from England."

"Nerelisin?" (Where are you from as well, but here you are looking for a reply as in the form of "Ýngilizim" (I´m english), so you can consider it as "what nationality are you"

And for a response as "Londra´daným" -I´m from London. or shortly, "Londra´dan"-From London;

-Neresinden? -From which part of it?, or " Neresindensin?"- From which part of it are you from?

or Hangi þehirden? - From which city?

So I´m wrong all the time when I speak to people?  I wish they would correct me

I don´t know if you are wrong all the time.

You can answer directly with the city name as well as  "Londralýyým "to "Nerelisin?"

or "Londra´daným" to "Neredensin?"

But....can you just say ´Londra´dan´ because in English if someone asked me where I was from I would be more likely to just say ´from London´ than ´I am from London´ - or doesn´t that follow in Turkish?  People say lots of things in a short way.  If someone asks me ´nasýlsýn´ I usually answer ´teþekkurler - ya sen?´ now. I don´t do the whole ´Iyiyim teþekkur ederim, sen nasýlsýn´ thing I was taught by the book.

Human nature. We all prefer shorter forms.

In fact you might as well say just "Londra" when you´re asked:

-Neredensin?

-Londra

LIR it´s so simple as follows:

A-Nerelisin?

B-Ýngiltere

A-Neresinden?

C-Londra

Don´t worry, they won´t ask: kimlerdensin? When they ask: Londra´nýn neresindensin? the best answer is to say: Kilisenin yanýndan (Turkish version:Caminin yanýndan) If they ask: hangi kilise? you can say: Hani meydanýn ordaki var ya,onun yanýndan. And they will stop asking. Alcoholics
