Guess who is getting this year´s Nobel Peace Prize ?

Hint: An esteemed world leader whose country is by far the world´s largest dealer in weapons of mass destruction, whose armies are actively engaged in invasion of at least two countries both of which are not nearly her match, who more than supports state terrorism by Israel in Middle East.

AlcoholicsABSOLUTELY NO KIDDING !

Again.. Please do not blame my President Barack Obama for the policies set forth by GEORGE W BUSH and DICK CHENEY. They were in power for EIGHT YEARS. How can my extremely liberal President undo what THEY did this quickly?

But your sentiments are shared also by the racist southerners of America. I wonder are your reasons for ridiculing my President the same as theirs?

it`s always good to see naive people like you who believe that Obama is any different from the others. Is warmongering on the Afghanistan invasion and keeping the documents showing the crimes in Iraq secret the way how Obama "undos"  what America has done?  Has Obama lifted the fascistic American embargo on Cuba? any attempts? will he get Bush tried as a war criminal?any chance we will see this christian nazi hanged like what you did to Saddam?

so the president`s color has changed, so no one can hold America responsible for the genocide it has been carrying out in Iraq anymore right? what did Obama do for the 1 million of people his country genocided in Iraq?

btw, keep your racism accusations for your own fellow citizens, we are not familiar with the context of white oppression in America. you`re being as funny as those jews who accuse anyone criticizing Israel of "antisemitism".

Whether you admit or not,the award of the Nobel Peace Prize to United States President Barack Obama this year,is a surprise to many.

He has only been in office nine months and have not made any significant contributions to be a winner.

If it was next year, I think nobody would raise an eyebrow.

Roll eyes joke??    or  you think, in one year US will get rid of its double-faced warmongering politics with the leadership of Obama, really??

Its better to read the hint that AlphaF posted. FYI, war, colonization, weapon trade and interfering other countries internal affairs are the lifebloods of US. Thats why Obama is not able to deviate from these, because he is also directed by those well heeled neocons who are mainly jews. Obama can be a good person but he has no power, he was just chosen to mend the image of US so maybe his period will be a little uneventful but after then generally nothing will change...

I have yet to see any hint of a change in policy regarding Iraq and Afghanistan - he has had 8 months to do something - even a small thing - about this.

So you agree he should have got the peace prize?  you funny guy

Yes, i cant claim that you are from Mars, just i can hopeHead bang.  Anyway, i agree that people need hopes and dreams, then you just hope that Obama will deserve the award in one year. It seems to me that you were nearly sure of that when you said "i think nobody would raise an eyebrow". In my opinion you should have swapped "i think" into "i hope or i dream" so it will be more clear...

Just one small point, Afganistan is a NATO led operation and Turkey is part of that, and he has had some talks with Raol in Cuba, but would not Cuba be far better off without Americans invading their country and taking over????

I have to agree with you Armegon, sadly the president is but a puppet of his administration.  But I wonder if he still would have received the prize had he not become president and it would not be sitting in the hands of John McCain and being polished by Sarah Palin??  Well I am glad that it is Obama in power right now and not the republican alternative.

I am sure the attention this has received in the media will surely make the prize givers think twice about how and who they choose as their target.  Obama through no fault of his own has gone from Mr Popular to Mr Unpopular overnight.

Let´s say he is not elected but selected by the hidden powers on purpose to change the United States´ bad image among the third world countries, even this proves that something will change in the next years. I don´t think Nobel committee consists of fools. It is clear that they awarded Obama based on expectations...in order to encourage him for his attendance...

...Okay, I get that people don´t agree with Obama getting the price, but it´s not SUCH a big deal. Do people actually remember all the people who have gotten this price in the past? We only remember the ones we already knew from other stuff.

That Obama hardly had time to deserve a peace prize in the Office is correct, but not the main concern. The main concern is that Nobel Prize, as a Western institution, may be a total farce.

So, what else may be rotten in the Western Kingdom?

...okay, what did Obama do to deserve this price?

He reduced high tensions that were felt worldwide. After Bush was kicked out of office, the current administration in the U.S. has opened talks again with a lot of nations that they didn´t talk to before. Talking is always a first step to peace. Yes, there are still troops active world-wide, but it´s totally not logical to expect somebody to retreat all troops in one day. This is not possible, and not constructive. Second, the whole laser high tech satelite anti-rocket shield isn´t an issue anymore, since Obama is president. Third, he has inspired a lot of people that you can fight the odds, and you can get what you want if you go for it, struggle for it.

He didn´t get the price for nothing. You can disagree with the reasons, but you cannot say that the committee just liked the sound of the name Obama and give the price for that reason.

Old Butch

John was in the fertilized egg business.  He had several hundred young layers (hens), called ´pullets,´ and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs.

He kept records, and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and was replaced.

This took a lot of time,  so he bought some tiny bells and attached them to his roosters.

Each bell had a different tone,  so he could tell from a distance, which rooster was performing.

Now, he could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report by just listening to the bells.

John´s favorite rooster, old Butch,  was a very fine specimen, but this morning he noticed old Butch´s bell hadn´t rung at all!

When he went to investigate, he saw the other roosters were busy chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing, but the pullets, hearing the roosters coming, could run for cover.

To John´s amazement, old Butch had his bell in his beak, so it couldn´t ring.  He´d sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one.

John was so proud of old Butch,  he entered him in the Renfrew County Fair and he became an overnight sensation among the judges.

The result was the judges not only awarded old Butch the No Bell Piece Prize  but they also awarded him the Pulletsurprise as well.

Clearly old Butch was a politician in the making.

Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most highly coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the populace and screwing them when they weren´t paying attention.

Watch prize winners carefully, the bells are not always audible.
