Well - the problem in this forum is when you say something about yourself or when you express an opposite idea, it is immediately turned into a discussion, and there are people who are waiting for a discussion to break out.
If I really think that my English is perfect and I speak it as my second native language, I mustn´t allow you to correct my mistakes about it.
When you asked me if you could correct some mistakes of mine, I said yes, because I would learn new thing by your corrections.
I didn´t say my English is like my second language in order to praise myself, I said in order to show you how I cared and liked speaking English, and how speaking English was important for me.
thx

And you are very good at being included in discussions, and no need to panic, nobody allows someone to publish lesson notes, whose is Turkish is doubtful
thx

OMG Reyhan are you stalking Turkishcobra?
The guy simply posts some lyrics and you turn it into some kind of translation war, with LIR posting all the "mistakes"? This has never been done before out of the language and translation forums and spoils the poetry and music section (in my opinion).
There have been many beautiful lyrics/poems posted on this site over the years - they maybe not always COMPLETELY perfect, but the essense of the words is always clear. As far as I am aware, speaking PERFECT English (particularly when you are non-English) is not a requirement for posting on this site?

I asked TC if he objected to some corrections to his English and he replied ´not if it will help me learn´. After that he said he spoke English like a native - which I found arrogant and rather contradictory. I have not come across any other Turkish person on this site who claims to ´speak English like a native´ and there are many who clearly (from the way they write) speak it equally as well or better than he does.
....and, if I attempted to post a poem I had translated from English to Turkish I would certainly expect to be told where I went wrong!

How could he object without appearing arrogant? I think you and Reyhan are just taking some war you had with TC in the translation forum into this one because you feel you have to "knock him down"???
Anyway, it was just my opinion...but yes, this kind of correction spoils the poetry and lyrics forums..
