Herkese merhaba!
I´m here for a month now but still don´t know how to use public transport. we´ve been taking taxis or I´d travel in my bf´s car, but tomorrow i need to go to a job interview on my own.
Please help me understand where to find a map of bus routes (I found only tren, metro maps) and how exactly do you pay on a bus? I walked to the nearest bus stop today and saw that they´re using some blue tokens like for metro, am I right? I was too shy to ask somebody how to get to the place I needed... so all my hope is that kind people here would help me.
I need to go to "BaГeЧehir kadar" from Mecediyeköy (I guessed its near Cevahir).
Çok teşekkürler!

Buy an ´akbil´ (you see akbil bayii almost next to every - major - stop), upload it with money and it works like a prepaid card. Every time you use bus, metro or tram you ´click´ the akbil onto a machine, quite clear.
And I guess at major metro stations or the like they have maps of public transport.
Here you can read about public transport and see what an akbil looks like.

I did it! I bought the akbil 6tl and went by metrobus and then took a minibus, it all worked out well! people are very friendly and it´s best to ask either workers of ieet or akbil sellers.
Even though I did come to the address i wanted, it took me 2, 5 hours! I can´t imagine commuting that everyday, but it was a useful experience. Again, thanks evb for help!

There was nothing wrong with the link - I got to the site. It was just that, when I typed in a starting point the message I mentioned in my other post came up. All I wanted to know was if anyone knows why this message would have come up. I wanted to know what ´blocked because of IPS attack´ means and was hoping some computer expert on the site could help.

If you didn´t try to raid the site then you have been affected by a hacker. Most likely a hacker entered your internet connection and used your IP (Internet Protocol) it´s your internet address. They used it to probably spam that site, or to hack it for whatever reason leading to your ban. Best thing to do is to get an anti virus software and remove all worms and reset your IP (Turn off your modem for about five minutes then reboot it.)
Here´s some more explaination from wikipedia. Especially Reference#5 is a good read if you´re interested.

Thanks for the information si, but I do have anti-virus software and I did everything you suggested but still getting that message from that particular site. Oh well - I will just have to find my way around without a bus schedule next time I go to Istanbul!

Hmm. Maybe a false positive. Or your IP has been blacklisted because of some other computer´s activity in the same segment (i.e. the same first 3 octets *.*.*.xxx)
Still you can never be sure whether your computer is completely clean even if you have installed all the latest AV software. You know that virus writers are some steps ahead of anti-virus writers.
Whatever...
