Don´t be silly, I could never forget you. I have been very busy preparing to take the bar exam to obtain my law license. The exam is on February 28 and 29th in New York City. I study all day, every day. I have also been busy preparing my move to Istanbul. Please forgive me. Every time I feel nervous or anxious, I touch my Allah necklace, and I thank Him for bringing you into my life. Ok, now for the good stuff. I have very important and exciting news for you! First, ______ has contacted me and asked me if I was still willing to move to Istanbul. I told him yes, and he offered me a very attractive permanent, full-time position as a partner in the firm. I am looking forward to starting a career no longer as an intern, but as a real attorney! Second, I was also approved by the Turkish Ministry of Labor and Social Security for a residency permit and work visa! Whooooooooo! It was a very, very, very long and complicated process, with a lot of questions and waiting involved, but this is necessary to ensure there are no complications or problems. Third, I also had to get a new passport. Remember when I told you that mine was stolen at the Metro station in October? Ooooof yaaaa! Now, I need to contact Levant and ask him if he is willing to rent me the Cihangir apartment again. If not, I will have to find a new place to live. Maybe you can help, if you aren´t too busy. The only other thing I have left to do is book my plane ticket. I think _______ will assist me with my moving expenses, so I must wait for his instructions. Ok, enough about me. How are you? How is life in Tusla? How is caring and God-fearing Hamiyet? How is strong and supportive Hassan? Funny and kind Emin? Beautiful Beyza? How are my dear friends Mehmet and Yasin? If you see them, please tell him I miss them very much, that I am planning my move, and I will see them shortly. Lastly, you must know that you are always in my heart and I carry our memories around with me always. You will be pleased to know that I am an expert at making cay. Remember the day in the Cihangir apartment when I brought home paket servis cay (with mevsim meyveli) and you laughed ("Dear, Turkish person never buys cay with paket servis!")? Also, do you remember when you wanted to try my teeth whitening clear plastic strips and you hated them so much? Do you remember how you always waited outside the dolmus to Altunizade to make sure I was safe? Do you remember making love in the bathroom mirror in the upstairs bathroom in Altunizade? Do you remember drinking tea at night at the Dolmabahce Palace cafe during Bayram? Do you remember buying sweets at Imren market? Do you remember watching the Nicholas Cage movie on the couch in Altunizade? Do you remember when I dropped my camera in the water in Saklikent because you called me a kaplumbag? Do you remember our first night in Cihangir, when we made love four times? I am anxious to see you again and create more memories together. Until then, I will dream of the day when I will see you at the airport. Hopefully this time, you will not have to page me over the intercom one million times!

Sınav 28 – 29 Şubat’ta New York’ta olacak.

to page me over the intercom means to get someone to say my name on the building´s speaker system, to go and meet somewhere. eg ´paging Mr Harpoon, could you please come to reception´
