Not having money did not prevent my parents from loving me and my siblings less , we did not feel inferior because our clothes were not as pretty or as new as the other kids, we did not get less of an education. We were not rich but we knew what the important things were and are.
This is something taht has stayed with me and taugh me what is important in life and this is what I am passing on.
If your heart breaks and you feel bitter because you cannot get your children the latest trendy cloths and toys, then maybe your prioreties is not on the right things. And if your children do not understand why you cannot get them those things then maybe it is time you explain to them the realety of life, you would be surprised how much they understand.
I was not an understanding boy. I always wanted the fancy things that other kids had

Yes Erdoğan is a great populist. Even when he speaks abroad he speaks to Turks.
I see the populism of this comment differently, though. Recommending people to have more children in this overpopulated world always means encouraging to unsustainable development which in the long run is irresponsible no matter who says it.
I agree with stumpy, modesty in consuming is the best life style for both children and adults and if we don´t know yet how to find quality of life in immaterial things it is time to learn it. But I have a feeling there are places in this world where poor people just dream of putting their children to sleep with a full stomach.

me too, when I was very young, I asked for everything I saw when I was out walking around with my mother. Everthing because I used to thinnk that if I asked for more, I would have more chances to get at least one
And when she said that she does not have money, I would tell her "Then go to the bank to get some, there are lots there!"

She must have even many more
I knew i´m acting as an amateur mother but not a naive one ... no one could be trusted nowadays
After what i´ve just realized i can say one kid is definitely enough.

ECONOMIC BASIS FOR NUMBER OF KIDS - NO NEED TO CHECK YOUR BANK ACCOUNT FIRST
The way Islam has come to be interpreted and taught by the so called Islamic scholars is that the economical status of mother and father of a child, or the economic conditions of the family a child is born into, have no influence in what riches will be available to that child thruoughout his life.
All hinges on the concepts of "nasip" or "kısmet" which basically is what God wills for a person to have or not to have in life, totally independent of initial family economics.
Any man who believes this teaching to be true Islam, considers himself totally irresponsible for providing a future for his offsprings, and readily believes likes of RTE who ask them to exercise their manhood to its full, leavin God to take care of the rest.
See RTE´s own son ? God willed him to own a commercial size ship, at the age of 23. Beleve it or not, RTE had no finger in this deal !

There are many families in the world who are struggling to put food on the table. It is wise not to have more children than you can afford. Love does not fill your belly or put a roof over your head. As far as having fancy clothes or toys...that doesn´t even enter your mind when your baby is crying for food you can´t buy.

Gerçekci ve akıllıca bir yaklaşım !. Wise and realist approach !
it is a materialist aproach rather than a wise one.
what is the mimimum income and property to have children?
and to be realistic, the future is unpredictable. we may have enough money, a good job, a car, a home etc now. so we can have 3 or more children! what if we lose our job and all or most of our property. it is always possible, so we shoud never have any children to prevent their possible suffering. what a logic! you make plans but destiny has plans, too!
