This thread makes me think why we have a forum rule for not speaking Turkish.
We can see that non-native speakers of Turkish can nicely chat in Turkish.
There is a Turkish chat room on this site, si++.

No I just think you are wrong.
Forum discussions and chatting should be two different things. Forum is the place for topics which have some relevance for a wider group of people and for a longer period of time. This is why the forum language is English. I have understood in the chat room using Turkish language is recommended, so there is a perfect place for this kind of practicing at TC.
Recently many forum threads have changed into endless chatting I admit. But this is my opinion.

Well,
This thread makes me think why we have a forum rule for not speaking Turkish.
We can see that non-native speakers of Turkish can nicely chat in Turkish.
Si++, it´s hard to make rules that are going to make 100% sense in every situation. Nobody had said that this conversatio in Turkish wasn´t ok, many people enjoyed it and nobody removed or criticized it. The point of the rule is not to exclude ´learners´ from discussions in Turkish where native speakers have extensive conversations that others cannot follow, which is when we ask for a translation.

It´s not recently. I see it every now and then since I joined here.
Not everybody uses chat (me included). Chat is temporary, forum is permanent.

OK. Thanks for the clarification.
