Well,

This thread makes me think why we have a forum rule for not speaking Turkish.

We can see that non-native speakers of Turkish can nicely chat in Turkish.

No I just think you are wrong.

Forum discussions and chatting should be two different things. Forum is the place for topics which have some relevance for a wider group of people and for a longer period of time. This is why the forum language is English. I have understood in the chat room using Turkish language is recommended, so there is a perfect place for this kind of practicing at TC.

Recently many forum threads have changed into endless chatting I admit. But this is my opinion.

Si++, it´s hard to make rules that are going to make 100% sense in every situation. Nobody had said that this conversatio in Turkish wasn´t ok, many people enjoyed it and nobody removed or criticized it. The point of the rule is not to exclude ´learners´ from discussions in Turkish where native speakers have extensive conversations that others cannot follow, which is when we ask for a translation.

It´s not recently. I see it every now and then since I joined here.

Not everybody uses chat (me included). Chat is temporary, forum is permanent.

Winter seems to be over here in Istanbul. In fact there was no winter at all this year. It´s like we are in April here or something like that. Nice wheather outside but it´s really worrisome to not have any significant rainfall for the past 3 months here.

Yes, but it´s too late. Dams are almost empty in Istanbul and the recent rainfall ain´t good enough. Besides it directly flows to the sea as seen above (What a strange picture isn´t it? What kind of infrastructure do we have?) instead of dams. It´s gonna be a dry and hot summer in Istanbul.

By the way Simona Halep advances to the Final of French Open. Is it big news in Romania?

I hope it will be a hot summer in Turkey...

and yes, she will be in Final against Şarapova

I dont know if it is a big news in Romania - here, like other countries maybe, the Kings are football and politicians, not gold olimpics at tennis, gymnastic or math...
