Hi everyone,

Any corrections to this naive translation!
E:"If distance does not increase your love, then know you haven´t been truly in love."
T: "Mesafe aşkını (büyümezse,artırmazsa,..) , o zaman sen hiç gerçekten aşık olmadın bil".

Thanks!

I have a question for you - others can translate

what do you mean increase your love?

I thought you either love or don´t love

maybe you mean longing ( like longing to be together )

Well...you´re right, but for metaphorical purpose I have to keep the harmoney...Distance in between two things is mesurable quantity so love has to be the same in this regard (it surely implies longing).

I think it implies lust

lust might work because saying that distance makes you love more is an oxymoron statement

that is not harmony nor is it metaphorical statement

sea of grief is a metaphor

You screwed up the whole meaning of the sentence guys
well, anyway there´s no "LOGICAL" flaw in my sentence, so I kindly ask for Turkish "GRAMMATICAL" corrections.

who´s logic are we speaking of.

there are flaws no matter which way you write it.

you love or you don´t love , distance should not have a bearing on it.

a metaphor is like the example I showed you

sea of grief

BASICALLY YOU ARE SAYING BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE FARTHER AWAY FROM EACH OTHER THEY SHOULD WILL LOVE EACH OTHER MORE AND IF THEY DON´T THEY WERE NEVER IN LOVE IN THE FIRST PLACE

DOES NOT MAKE SENSE IF THEY NO LONGER LOVE EACH OTHER IT MEANS THEIR LOVE FAILED - NO REASON NEEDED

ok. I got your point...there´s no metaphor at all and there´s no logic. Any other suggestions?
