I have known my Turkish husband for over 20 years and married for the last 8. The key to our relationship, just like any other, is communication. Despite our cultural differences, we have very similar backgrounds and come from similar families. We may not have exactly the same beliefs but at our core we have very similar ideas and conclusions about marriage, children (we have 3), spirituality, family, money, etc... We have similar educations and share similary ideologies. How can you love/marry someone if you don´t even have a basic understanding of how they feel about these things? In my opinion, a strong and successful relationship is based on similarity and compatibility. I don´t believe in the saying "opposites attract." I believe that people who have similar backgrounds and interests probably make it way past 14 months.

I don´t know that anyone has ever decripted Turkish body language before (I still don´t know whether my husband is shaking his head yes or no half the time!)...but I wish you both luck in your endeavor! I would like to be the first to order a set of flashcards please!

I give them 1 year until the passion gets a little lower, and then you are replaced by the new toy, or by a serious girlfriend.
Love is an uncontolable and reciprocal desire or urge to discover everything about another person.
Unfortunately love dies out (except in rare occassions), when there is nothing more to discover in the other person. It is not the end of the world; good news is that one can experience many loves in a lifetime.
On rare occassions, the partners in love join in an eternal unity and become one, duality ceases to exist. It takes a higher level of human being to reach that state and once attained it lasts forever.

I think that is not about turkish men..it can be for every man/ woman around the world..love is first of all physical atraction more of emotional or communication skills....there are, still, an animal inside of human beings...
