just coz of character weakness of there is no was to be succesful????

Jesus... Duskahvesi, you ask questions which take hundreds of books and lots of research to answer. People commit suicide for many different reasons, I even heard of someone thinking of doing this because he was curious about what happens when he dies and if there is an afterlife!

My theory on this subject is neither a charater weakness, or that there is no way to be successful. When someone decides to kill themselves they mentally have come to the worst point possible, you may not understand if you have never felt depressed or severe anxiety over something. But, they feel there is no other way out, no way to make themselves happy or to feel better inside. They may feel that they are bringing pain to the ones they love, and they would be better off without them. Or, on the other end they may feel that they have nobody to love or who love them.

I think the idea grows inside you without you realising it first. At the beginning the person will ignore the idea and pretend it isnt existing. But with time the idea becomes stronger and stronger and takes control over you.
Even the most health looking people can commit suicide if this thought is hidden somewhere in the subconsciousness. It can be also hereditary.

An important detail is that a person just a short time before, possibly a few days ago, will talk about committing suicide to friends or relatives. The person will not tell you clearly what he or she is going to do but tell you enough to make you suspicious.

This is a way of asking for help. So you need to be aware at the time when you hear this from someone.

But it is perfectly all right for arabesk lovers to talk about this issue. This doesnt mean anything. They might say things like "I'm gonna kill myself if you leave me". But they will end up being drunk.

by other situations one being medication I have heard

of a younglady who had taken and was perscribed an

Anti-ddepressent and committed suicide and I have

heard of others as well. It is so sad.

Well - I have something to say on this subject. Of course I would do wouldn't I?

dusk...you are quite wrong! Severe depression can drive a person to suicide. This can be psychological or psychiatric. The psychological kind of depression is when a person (as Sarah said) is so miserable and anxious about something their life becomes intolerable. These people can be helped by counselling and help to solve the big problems that caused thier depression.

Psychiatric (clinical) depression is caused by chemical imbalances in the brain and because of this the chemicals that we all have in us that make us feel happy are missing in these people. I can speak with some authority on this subject because by daughter in law has this kind of problem and she tried to commit suicide 3 times before the doctors discovered what was wrong with her, now she gets medication adn she is fine.

also in my job I have to deal with people who feel like suicide (for different reasons) - it is not about character weakness at all, but people who feel absolutely desperate for one reason or another and feel that the only escape from their pain and misery is to die.

Erdinc you said that suicidal tendencies can be hereditary - this is correct in 2 ways. In the first way the type of clinical depression (with the chemical imbalance) can be hereditary, but not always.
the other way, the psychological way is not exactly hereditary but may seem like it. If a person has say a parent who kills themself, this has a very serious effect on the child of that person. This can cause pyschological depression and that person then starts to think about killing themself because a parents behaviour is a very powerful thing for a child to copy - these are very simple explanations because as catwoman has said - you ask the kind of question that has had a million books written about it. But once again Bravo for thinking up good questions that get everyone's interest.

everything you said and I beleive in Medication for

clinical depression. The girl whom I spoke of was given

medication to strong for her which acctually increased her

depression.

2 things:
- if one commits suiside he goes straight to hell
- killing oneself does not solve your problems(unless u do it for health insurance money for your fam...)

Two points here.

1) I think you mean that YOU believe that if you kill yourself you will go straight to hell.

2) If a person kills themself, their insurance is void.
