Hmm, and in my bible studies they always said that Jesus said he was the son of God, and he himself never actually stated that he WAS God. I guess I need to dust my bible of again, to find that passage in which Jesus said the believe in Me or go to hell comment.
Actually...he did say in John 14:6 "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Which can be loosely interpreted to mean that you will not get to heaven except thru me. I just hink Jesus was too polite to say..."believe in me or go to hell." He knew he was the son of God and had an understanding that you must acknowledge that to get to the kingdom of heaven.
I don´t really want to enter into this argument...but I couldn´t help myself...

I was talking about what Jesus said, and I know the passages that were presented here before. Thanx for giving them I know that for Christians Jesus is basically God, but I was talking about statements that Jesus himself made. I´m pretty sure he mentioned believe in God But I was doubtfull about the "worship me or end up in hell" thing.

If you dont mind, i will also try to answer this. I am not much knowledged about christianity & its doctrines. But regarding what i read about christianity, i think your question is related to doctrine trinity which is such confusing, in other words not only bibles and gospels. So your question is related to term "triune and or trinity" means "One God in three persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit". None is greater than the other, none is dissimilar in substance than the other. In that case Jesus is also God and in that case what lemon said is truth according to principles of christianity. Christians please correct me if i am wrong ...
You are more knowledgable than our friends from post-christian countries. You are correct.

I guess people didn´t understand my comment. I wasn´t talking about what Christians believe (shortly said, Jesus is God), but what Jesus himself said (believe in God, he didn´t say believe in the man who is Jesus).
I don´t think Jesus was a liberal in the sense that he said that the rules of the Thora should be bend or something. I think he was strict in that sense of the word. But I think he was forgiving to those who slipped up, and in that sense was a liberal. I guess it is a difference in what people see as liberal or not. My view of somebody who´s not liberal, is somebody who is not only strict on himself but also very quick to judge others and be unforgiving if they don´t follow the rules. For me, Jesus is not that type of man. I don´t think Jesus would stand behind the crusades for example. He doesn´t seem the "believe in the Christian religion or I´ll chop your head off" type.

Speaking about Dutch. I am watching a film about a great woman whom many Dutch dont remember today because they are too busy with their freedom "to love themselves".

Indeed, I never heard of her so I just read her biography on Wikipedia. She was a resistance fighter in WWII and, I think more important, an evangelist of very orthodox-protestant beliefs. For me not too interesting, what I read sounds a lot like these television evangelists like Billy Graham.

You are a generation of hippies, no wonder you know things that can be only interesting to your own pleasure.
I call you ignorant, because you said Corrie was resistance fighter, which she never was. You compared her to Billy Graham, a tele-evangelist who has a comfortable life and enjoys his fame, which she never was either.

I haven´t heard about her either, and I´m from a different generation as Trudy... So... how about that I don´t know if you realise this, but there were a lot of brave women in Holland who were in the resistence. We can´t know the name of every single one of them. Do you know the name of every single person who did something good for your country? I do honour everybody who wasn´t afraid too fight for freedom in the war. So respect to this previously unknown (to me) woman, even though I might not agree with her religious views.
Now perhaps you should stop calling everybody who doesn´t agree with you a hippy. You´re starting to sound like Cartman from Southpark.

Ignorant or not, Corrie WAS in the resistance in WWII (Dutch resistance against the Germans, she and her family helped Jews, they ended up in a concentration camp Ravensbruck). I compared her to Billy Graham not because of her life style but because she was preaching like he was.
In English you can read here:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corrie_ten_Boom
In Dutch, the explanation is slightly different:http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corrie_ten_Boom
there you´ll find the word ´verzetsstrijdster´ meaning resistance fighter.
Oh and I´m certainly no hippie nor only interested in things only for my own pleasure, I just don´t like evangelists too much.
