Quoting tsarine:

Hi, everyone!

You use the Gelecek Zaman, the future tense

which got the 'acak' suffix, and ofcourse can be changed to 'ecek'accourding to the vowel harmony rules

Eylem +(y) + acak + kişi eki

to meet = rastlamak

So 't be rastla-y-acak-ım = i will meet

(rastla) is the root verb
(Y) is buffer to sperate between the 2 vowels,we cann't have 2 vowels after one another,we must sperate them with a buffer
(acak) is the Gelecek zaman suffix
(Im) is kişi eki of Ben

İ guess the sentence would be like that

Arkadaşıma rastlayacakım

İ hope this would help

Correction needed,

İ forgot to change the K to ( ğ ) after the vowel

İt should be rastlayacağım

Thx qdemir

Hi CANLI,

First, as the first person personal endings, -im and -iz begin with a vowel the final letter, “k” of the tense suffix is changed to “ğ”.
Your sentence should be "Arkadaşıma rastlayacağım."

Then, "rastlamak" means meet by chance. The correct verb use in this sense should be "buluşmak".
"Arkadışımla buluşacağım."

And also you can express the same meaning in the "şimdiki zaman" We can use the tense for a definite arrangement in the future; The time of the action is always mentioned, as otherwise there might be confusion between present and future meaning:

Yarın/İki saat sonra/ Saat 10:00'da /Cumartesi günü/... arkadaşımla buluşuyorum.

Tşkler qdemir,

evet,i forgot to change the (k) to ( ğ ) after it was followed by a vowel

let me get this right then,

You mean we can use Şimdiki zaman here too but only use other words to explain what time are we talking about ?

And which structure used mostly in daily life usage ? to use gelecek,or Şimdiki zaman ?

Another thing,
İ see here when you used buluşmak you used the suffix (li) with it,but when i searched in the dictionary,i found
rastlamak takes(e) so,
İf i am going to use the verb rastlamak i don't have to use (li) ?

Like , İ met qdemir in the street by chance

İ say , qdemire caddede rastladım
Or i should say , qdemirle caddede rastladım

Which is right ?

"qdemir'e caddede rastladım" is the correct use.(pay attention to -e the way it is written with a proper noun)

For near future definite arrangements we often use the "şimdiki zaman". For such a use the "şimdiki zaman" conveys the sense of certainty.

Is the -li suffix above the same -li suffix as in:
şekerli kahve

Used above because of meeting with friends?

"şekerli kahve" is the correct one.

It is very nice of you to try speaking in Turkish, more or less. The best way to learn a language. You might forget in time what you have learned unless you use it.

Sana başarılar, CANLI
