Merhabalar!

This is my favorite song by Ibrahim Tatlıses. I'm going to give you my translation and you decide for yourself.

I have loved you very much, you will be crazy.
I have loved you very much, you will be savage.
I have loved you very much, you will be a man.
My baby, I gave you my heart.
My baby, I gave you my life.
My baby, I have love you very much; my baby
This is the last time, I can speak with you.
This is the last time, I can suffer with you.
This is the last time, I can cry with you.
My baby, Oh, my baby.

Since the first time, I heard this song, I liked it. At first, I thought he was singing to his girlfriend, but by the third sentence, I found out it was not like that.

ERKEKCESINE
Erkek-man, ce- future, sine-to be 2nd. person.
You will be a man.

He is actually singing to a male baby probably his son.

Bebeğim
bebek-im, k changes to ğ (grammar lessons n.5)
My baby

I'm not turkish, therefore my translation can have errors but, I think this is more or less what the song is about, a father singing to his son. The song still great though.

haşÃ§akal!

hi meksikali,

i think u r totaly wrong it is true that the meaning of bebegim = my baby

but it does not mean that he is talking to his son but he call his beloved bebgim out of tenderness or love.

and even if the third sentence is erkekcesile

listen to me there is deference between ce for future and ce that indicate duration,
like for instance
yillarca=for years
saatlarca=for hours

do u understand me?

erkekcesele surely mean with my manhood or with all my power. something like that
another point dont forget that erkek is andjevtive ok dear
and u cant attach future tense to an adjective am i right or not i wish if any one can help???

thanks

Merhaba millet,

Meksikali, -ca/-ce means manner, way of doing something (thus TürkÇE is the "turkish way to say something" hehehe),

and, there is a lot of sufixes with -ca/ce which means manner; one of them -cesine/-casina,, delicesine is "in the way of crazies", "as a crazy", it's "crazyly" ("locamente", or "como un loco", if you speak spanish),

and so for erkekcesine (as a man) ("como un hombre")

And in ölürcesine, we must interpretate it as "until i die" ("hasta morir")

If I have some mistake, plz correct me

Yes güzelim, it's another of my favourite sites

Allaha Ismarladik!!!

Mmmmmmm....i have improved that site now and it goes right, maybe it's because mp3 are compressed in ".zip", and you must have winzip in order to descompress them;

If you want, i can send you some songs by msn, or, if you have the kazaa, try there, are a lot of mp3 of Ibrahim (but i prefer search on the web)

Also you can try another turkish mp3 sites as

http://www.mp3hane.com

or

http://nostaljim.com/index.html

But in those sites also songs are in .zip

Selamlar herkese!
Ok, got it!

So, the translation would be :

I have loved you very much, madly.
Te he amado mucho, locamente.

I have loved you very much, till death.
Te he amado mucho, hasta la muerte.

I have loved you very much, manly.
Te he amado mucho, con hombria.

Alyaa and Xesc, thank you for correcting me. I was thinking in -ecek (future). I had never heard of -cesine. Not even http://www.dnathan.com/language/turkish/tsd/index.htm has it included. Türkçe has many suffixes I still don't know and this was one of them. Well, I can say, I learned something new today and I thank you for that.

Evet Xesc, ispanyolca konuşuyorum. Meksikalıyım ama ABD uturuyorum. İspnayada uturuyor musunuz? Türkçemi iyi değil ben hala öğreniyorum.

HoşÃ§akal.

Merhaba herkese,

Xesc, I know majorca only by name, but I have never been there. Ah, bir oraya gidebilsem!

duskahvesi, Ben Meksikalayım ama Türk dili ve musigi sevgiyorum. nerede yazıyor musunuz?

Let's continue with the last part of the song.

If I can speak with you for the last time.
Si puedo hablar contigo por última vez.

If I can trouble myself with you for the last time.
Si puedo enrredarme contigo por última vez.

If I can cry with you for the last time.
Si puedo llorar contigo por últime vez.

Tamam.

hoşÃ§akal!
