find this a bit complicated, can somebody please explain this subject to me

Right now the Ergenekon probe is Turkey's top concern. Under these circumstances, French President Nicholas Sarkozy's initiative for a 'Mediterranean union' – or, under its new name, 'Barcelona Process: The Union for the Mediterranean' – has a hard time getting Turkey's interest. But not too long ago the issue was an important matter in our country. For this reason, we shouldn't ignore the weekend summit in Paris which brought together 42 heads of state and government, including Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

A number of European countries already recognized that France was trying to draw Turkey away from the European Union and direct it to a new union through the idea of the 'Mediterranean union.' In addition, Paris' efforts to turn the balance in the Mediterranean in its own favor angered the EU.

amid concerns over her 'radical' religious views.

Is a burqa incompatible with French nationality?

France has denied citizenship to a veiled Moroccan woman on the grounds that her 'radical' Islam is incompatible with French values, a legal ruling revealed.

The case will re-ignite debate about how to reconcile religious freedom with other rights, which many in France feel are being challenged by the way of life of some Muslims.

Le Monde newspaper said it is the first time a Muslim applicant had been rejected because of personal religious practice.

GORDON Brown is under pressure to block a £75million "mega mosque", amid claims one of the suspected Glasgow Airport bombers belongs to the radical Islamic group behind it.

More than 200,000 people have signed a Downing Street petition calling on the Prime Minister to intervene over plans for the mosque near the Olympics site in east London.

I Love Your Veil

What’s all this tale about the veil?
Fred and Gail shout and hail
Straw as hero
For his hail of fire on Aïsha’s attire.
Did Straw want Aïsha to show
Herself from head to toe?
Let Gail wear a mini-skirt
For her flirt.
And let Aïsha wear on her face
Or on her hair
Whatever piece
That would bring her peace
Vis-à-vis God and vis-à-vis Man.
Oh, man!
Why d’you wish her to disclose
Her beautiful eyes and nice nose
Or her lips or her hips
If that belongs to her?
Come on, Sir!
That body you want her to show
Is a diamond dearer than the glow
Of the face of Marilyn Monroe.

Remember what the great Arab poet, Khalil Gibran said about modesty in clothing:

“Some of you say, “It is the north wind who has woven the clothes to wear.”
But shame was his loom, and the softening of the sinews was his thread.
And when his work was done he laughed in the forest.
Forget not that modesty is for a shield against the eye of the unclean.
And when the unclean shall be no more, what were modesty but a fetter and a fouling of the mind?”

I loved the mixture of cultures in Turkey, covered women walking step by step with women in mini skirts. That is a sign of tolerance.

Daydreamer, you hit the nail when I totally read your message. I agree with you!

The statement you made, Tamikidakika is utter nonsense, I had no problems when I explored the conservative Fatih neighborhood, I did not see any miniskirts there
