I have also red the WHITE CASTLE, THE NEW LIFE, MY NAME IS RED and the BLACK BOOK.
If I remember well, the official site of his, is www.orhanpamuk.com
I also have to suggest AZIZ NESIN, he is my favorite Turkish writer.

In Greece we use to say "Do not leave for tomorrow anything you can do today"... If we all feel that this day would be our last, how many things we could do in a better way?
Thanks for the poems cruisins... just nice

Aziz Nesin's books was on of the reason that I learn Turkish. So as to read the originals. Konat, I hope to meet you in the Foundation someday, they have a fabulus festival on Children's Day, April 23

If anybody knows the famus Turkish writer Aziz Nesin, may also know the Nesin Foundation.
Nesin Foundation has been established on 1972 by Aziz Nesin in the town of Catalca, 40km from Istanbul. The purpose of the Foundation was the "hospitality" of poor children all around Turkey.
Nowadays about 45 children are living in the foundation, ages from 2 to 26. The staff of the Foundation are volunteers who give all their love and care to these children.
The only income of the Foundation are the donations from people all around the world and the income from Aziz Nesin's books as well.
I have visited the Foundation last month, and I was so surprised of that nice place, it seems like a big house for a very big family. The children there are growing up near the nature and have a lot of alternatives for their free time after school ( ceramik workshop, wood workshop , painting, learning chess are some of them). The other thing surprised me was the number of books in the two libraries of the Foundation, so many books for all the ages!
I think it will be very interesting to have a look in the Foundation's official page (in Turkish):

çok tesekkür ederim,

Lyndie you have to get there We Greeks are calling Istanbul "Poli" which means "The City"... That's because Istanbul is The City... the most magnifficent city in the whole world I think. Once you get there you will always miss it
