You could write a letter to Turkey embassy in your country and ask for details. But as far as I know you can get tourist visa in airport. You can stay in country for 1 month (30 days) with this visa and it costs 15 euro.

Check the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, there you will see if Philippines nationals need visa to enter Turkey, and what type of visa should you get in case it is necessary to have one.
The airport visa is available only to certain countries like the USA or many EU nations, others don´t even need a tourist visa like us Venezuelans or some other Latin American countries.

You can go to Turkish Embassy in the Philippines and secure application form and therein, you will find out the requirements in applying for a visa which include the letter of invitation from Turkey. You must have a visa prior to leaving the Philippines. Or, you can contact a travel agency to process your visa.
Good Luck

I got my visa at the airport. All I needed to show is my passport and pay whatever the fee was (I think it was $30 or $40 from the USA). They put a little sticker in your passport and you´re all set. Nothing to it.

You can´t work when you´re a tourist in any country (at least I haven´t heard of any that allow that). Here´s some more info about working in Turkey: http://www.turkishclass.com/forumTitle_22081

hii garie, I read ur question about getting visa. I just finished doing that in PH and I want to share my personal experienced to you. First you have to call Turkish Embassy in Philippines then ask them what papers you will need. You told in this forum that you still didnt travel anywhere so I think better ask them.
TURKEY EMBASSY PHILIPPINES
2268 PARAISO ST., DASMARINAS VILLAGE
MAKATI CITY PHILIPPINES
843-9705
843-9707
Call them start at 3pm.
they dont entertain calls on other time.

hi again, you will get tourist visa as I did. You have to prepare passport pic 2 pcs, bank certificate, bank books if you have business bring business permits xerox copy and bring originals and the best way is invitation letter because its your first time to travel. You cant work there as a tourist. That will be a different visa it will be working visa and i will tell you they will need lots of papers and you will wait so long time.
For working visa you will need red ribbon certificate -certificate of school you finished from philippines and in ANKARA.
Approva
Invitation letter of the company who invites you.

It costs US$15 or EUR 10 and it´s valid for one month. As far as I remember this applies to
most countries...

hi garie, bank certificate is one of the requirements unless you have a host from turkey that invites you to go there and shoulder your airfare trip and means of stay there.
If you will see their application form at the back page they have a question there asking who will pay for your stay and the return airfare ticket to where country you belong. You know, I was shocked too!!! I went to many countries already requiring visa, but its my first time to see a question like that in a application form When you will have the VISA application form you will see it anyway. In short they dont want TNT there. Also you told in the forum that its your first time to travel so better bring all the requirements. Sorry for the last message i shared with you coz its not complete i didnt have time to finish.
Also you ask if you can work there as a tourist, nope. You need to get a working VISA.
Best way , ask for a help... a letter of invitation is best.

Not to the Phillipines though......I believe it´s as difficult - if not more so - for a Filipino to get a visa for Turkey as it is for a Turk to get a visa for the UK.

it is difficult for Filipino´s to get a visa to Turkey. unless, someone sends them letter of invitation or "davet". The person sending the davet should have sufficient amount of money in the bank, has at least car insurance or some sort of property etc, to show the embassy, to prove that you can support the person going to Turkey. The person also going to Turkey, should show bank statements (at least 40,000 pesos.. which is around 1000 us dollars or more) and a plane ticket, (no direct flights from philippines to turkey) would cost you around 1500 dollars. (gulfair.com it´s the cheapest) and you have to pay 5000 pesos for visa processing, which is about... hmmm 100 us dollars or more, without any assurance of getting approved. If you get denied, you cannot get back the money you spent to process visa, and you have to wait for about a few months or a year, before you can apply again.

12 Feb 2009 Thu 06:05 pm |
oh and by the way.... you would be spending around 1500-2000 us dollars, just to get a tourist visa to Turkey. But if you would be applying for work to Turkey, in order to get a work visa, the company that would hire you, will take care of everything. Visa, etc. And just to let you know, it is hard to find a job in Turkey, and find a company or agency that would take care of your visa. Trust me, i tried.
A little piece of advice. Don´t go to Turkey, unless he will pay for everything. And make sure you REALLY know your boyfriend. I thought i have known my ex for 2 years, but apparently i didn´t.

|
|
32. |
12 Feb 2009 Thu 06:27 pm |
it´s hard really, coz a lot of filipinos take advantage using tourist visas and then stay at the country they are going to work there in hiding. you know the term "tago ng tago"? There are many filipinos in US, UK, etc, who use tourist visa, and never come back to the Philippines. These kind of people give all Filipinos a bad reputation, no wonder visas (even tourist visas) are so expensive.

nope haven´t been in Turkey. but i know some details, coz i enquired a lot before i decided to apply. (actually i didn´t apply anymore) I think if you´re in Turkey, and you want to extend your vacation, you have to go to Philippine Embassy in Turkey, I think it is in Istanbul or Ankara. I´m not sure though, if it´s easy to get approved.
Oh i forgot to mention. You are spending 2000 US dollars for tourist visa, which is only 2 WEEKS. (pocket money not included. Turkish embassy requires you to at least have 150 dollars a day for ur stay in Turkey. 150 US dollars times 12 days... do the math... ) Other countries can get a tourist visa for 1 month -3 months.
And i notice that you make a lot of e-t translations too. Hmmm if he doesn´t know any english, you better start learning Turkish. Or at least you better start teaching him to speak english. That´s what i did. I taught my ex bf english. I didn´t know i would regret it 2 years later.... lol...

exactly.... i´m not talking only about the visa, i was talking about the over-all expense in going to Turkey. It was easier last year to go to Turkey, but now they have changed the... hmmmm sort of President or something? because of some anomalies involved. Some people resigned, some people got fired... etc. They have become more strict regarding approval on Turkish Tourist visa. I wouldn´t know if i didn´t inquire and try as well.( I also have friends working there. ) So I´m pretty sure of what I´m talking about. Or when in doubt, you could always still inquire the embassy themselves. (But i doubt they will give you all the information that you would really need to hear.)

Instead of calling Justintime a liar, please post the information you have about tourist visa from Phillipines, if you know better.
I think the young lady who started the thread now has enough information to make her decision whether she should visit Turkey or not.

kookie... apparently you haven´t been reading carefully. I said OVER-ALL EXPENSE, INCLUDING PLANE TICKET AND POCKET MONEY. (i thought you read all my posts and chats?) you might want to read all over again, Turkish visa goes about 2000 pesos to 5000 pesos. And i said that plane ticket costs 1,500-2,000 US dollars. it even depends what season you go to Turkey. Obviously winter is cheaper, and summers are more expensive.
And if you have read ALL my chats, you would have noticed that i also adviced garie, to go the the embassy herself, if she really wants detailed information about visas, because obviously she would be getting different opinions from different people here. Im not here to debate about me being right, or being wrong as well, I´m giving information on what I know. If you think I´m wrong, then correct me. But apparently name-calling seems to be your thing. (For someone who doesn´t want to argue, your approach was very diplomatic. ) Don´t worry, I won´t stoop down to your level.
and just so everyone knows, 1 US dollar is equivalent to 47 pesos... to date. Might go higher. I know how to do math, thank you very much. And oh... thanks for making an account here in Turkishclass, just so you can respond to my posts. Welcome...

Therefore you misquoted me, I can use your other post as well, saying i only referred the 1,500 dollars for visa. NOT.
Apparantly diplomacy isn´t your thing either. I wasn´t discouraging garie, I was giving caution. She´s a wise woman to know what she would do, and it´s funny that im giving advice to her, and you´re the one getting offended. ....
And on the anomalies that "had" happened on the Turkish embassy here in the Philippines. There were many filipinos who weren´t qualified to get a visa, but still entered Turkey easily. I said "President" of Turkish embassy with questions marks "????" Because i didn´t know what he was called. "Head Director?" I don´t know. You are the one implying i know everything, and that I´m "miss know-all", I didn´t tell garie, i knew everything and ask only me. I gave the information I KNOW. Others can shar their opinions with garie too just like cecille did, and it´s in garie´s choice what opinions to take.
And I´m gonna repeat again, if you don´t understand. I ADVICED GARIE TO GO TO THE EMBASSY HERSELF. To know what she needs. I didn´t say DON´T APPLY FOR VISA. I´m not discouraging her, I´m trying to give her the information i know, so GARIE WOULD KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT AND WHAT TO DO, i didn´t stop her from doing what she wanted.

then YOU ONLY READ 1 POST of all the messages I wrote. ( maybe you need reading glasses?)Try reading post number 29. I said read carefully kookie. If garie read all my posts as well, she would understand what i meant. And i chatted with garie already, and i did tell her that the 1500 was for the plane ticket....
I really don´t see the point talking about this to you, because i wanted to say it to Garie.
Oh and the last part about saying to garie that he should know his bf first is AN ADVICE. I didn´t tell her to stop going out with him. She is old enough to know what she should do.

I´m done talking with you kookie. And Garie if you are reading this, and if you have ever felt discouraged by my posts, then i apologize. I was only trying to look out for your best interest, but if my motives were misunderstood I apologize to YOU. Let´s talk this over via PM.

thanks garie. I knew you understand what i was saying when i was speaking with you. I just don´t understand why some other people have to make an issue about it, when it was not their problem in the first place. Anyway garie. I hope you can get everything accomplished soon. Good luck..

Please don´t type in capital letters kookie - it is like shouting. I don´t know quite why you are being aggressive - you have made your point - they can take notice of it - or not - as they wish. No matter what Garie is told she will find out exactly what is needed when she contacts her embassy about a visa.

and you don´t seem to notice the fact about your misleading post either. Saying you don´t want an argument, but you called me a liar and ms. know-all. You also don´t want to see that you weren´t being diplomatic in your approach to me. It was obvious in the first sentence of your post.
and again... im saying... READ POST 29. You are the only one saying it´s misleading, but the person concerned already knew what she should do. lol... i really find this funny. Because garie and i had already talked, and she stated on her post above that she had already done what she needs to do, but you want this issue to still linger... hahaha!!!!
omg.. I´m really done talking, because you´re just going around in circles, and i dont want to be a broken record explaining the same things, which you can´t get inside your head. I alreadyapologized to garie, and that´s the only thing that matters to me. ADIOS. mwuahhh!!!!

So what if i talk differently with you on PM and on forums? You´re really new here... If you can get irritated by me so easily, i wonder how you will be able to handle the other old-timers here... lol....
and kookie wants to have the "last word"... ... I really don´t care.

I agree - and as Garie seems to have plenty of information if they continue I will have the last word - and lock the thread.

OK - have it your own way - this thread has become a waste of space.
Sorry Garie - I am sure you can ask again in another thread if you need more information.

please lock thread. She will not stop unless she has the "last word". I already PM´d her, that i was done talking with her, and i wanted to end converstion, but she wouldn´t let it go. I can show my PM´s to you if you think it´s necessary.
