Quoting simonsays:

I have read that some Asians prefer not to say things like 'i love you' to their partners because that should be obvious by their actions and saying it is diminishing it's meaning since it should be obvious.. Is this true of turkish culture? Would a Turkish girl tell her boyfriend she loves them on a regular basis or is this a Western custom that is not praticed in Turkey. Thanks for any commnets.

ill tell it how it is ok?...

the majority of turkish guys... (sorry to be stereotypical here)... are very romantic, and love to tell their gfs that they love them... even if its not true love... they are right softies at heart... hehe despite the big, dark, macho appearance they have... hehe

and then there are some of them, who dont say it at all.. lets take my parents for eg: my father has never told my mother that he loves her within 20 years of being married to her! i personally believe that this is because when u tell someone u love them, its the maximum thing that u can say to someone.. and what do us silly humans do?? we always want more than what wev got already. so i believe that my father is actually scared that my mum will get bored of him if he tells her these magical words... so really, does love her and doesnt want her to stop loving him either... and despite the fact that it sometimes seems rather cold, i believe that he is right in a way..

at the end of the day, are words everything..? i know they mean a lot, of course they do.. but love is not only expressed with words... words can lie too... but the look in someones eyes when they look at you, the tone in their voice when they speak to you means more i think.. what they do for you... in other words... the way they actually show their love... saying it is not everything... and in fact when people just say the words to everyone they go out with, its rather annoying because i doubt its true love everytime.. and it is actually very immature, reminds me of the kids at school, going out with a different person each week, and boasting about how much theyr in love... come on guyz.. is just saying "i love you" everything??.. i think not...

can anyone help me translate this into turkish?

You know i love you because all the time all i want to do is hold your hand, stroke your face, play with your hair, touch your body and hug your chest. I think about you from the second i wake up until the second i fall asleep and you will always be my angel and you know that.

thanks so much in advance, sorry to bother everyone again!

seni sevdiğimi biliyorsun çünkü her zaman elini tutmak, yüzünü okşamak, saçınla oynamak, vucudun tutup göğüşÃ¼ne sarılmak istiyorum. kalktığım saniyeden uyudum zamana seni düşÃ¼nüyorum. sen her zaman meleğim olursun ve onu biliyorsun.

i thinks that thats right.. maybe u could wait for another trans. though... hope i could help

can someone note down some phrases in turkish what to tell a fmily of someone who had died.

such as offering Condolences and pity.

How about this?

"Can*'ın ölümünden büyük(or derin) üzüntü duydum. Kendisine Allah'tan rahmet, siz ailesine (or yakınlarına) başsağlığı dilerim."

*'Can' is a fictional name there. But if only you could write the proper name. Because the suffix 'ın' in "Can-ın" might change according to the proper name.

maybe u should enlighten us on what that one means ha?
