They asked the high school graduates why they could not continue with the higher education:
(below is for girls only)
-was not succesful at the exam: 29.8
-successful at the axam but got married so did not go : 14.6
-didnot take the exam, had to work : 14.0
-her family did not let her to go :10.5
-does not like school/education: 9.8
-now a studant : 9.8
-successful at the axam but financial problems : 6.2
-scared of anarchi : 2.2
-successful at the axam but uni was too far: 1.9

If it is true, the storm about turban in universities is for nothing!!

When I was looking at the papers I saw this:
http://www.radikal.com.tr/haber.php?haberno=246720

it is quite interesting. Because, according to a survey, only 1% of the girls could not go to university after the high school because of turban..
They were trying to determine why high school graduates could not continue to higher education.
It is in turkish but at least you can see percentages there:

Quoting ciko:

oh let me guess what they will say ....'Ataturk had to change everything for people's own good despite people...Ataturk was never a dictator..he was always a great leader blah blah blah'

Ciko
I remember reading an article about him and it was saying something like 'Ataturk was the last dictator in order to stop anybody becoming dictator after him'.
The change he made was good and necessary for Turkish people.
He was a great leader too..blah blah ..

Ermmmm....
What is your view on the democratic validity of the Welsh assembly?

lol lol lol
is it supposed to be serious?

What do you mean serious?
Of course it is. Thanks for bringing up Aenigma..Dont you read any papers?!!

National Assembly for Wales has the power to make something called 'assembly measures' which, in reality, are primary legislations. And the primary legislations, as you all very well know, are lower than act of parliments.
And they use this power in 20 fields, ranging from 'welsh language' to 'catherina zeta jones's housing problem' .
And of course validity of the assembly is still being discussed in welsh but I think, they are abit bored about discussing this subject.
And in the end, they decided 'oh well, This is a huge step for the welsh independance, our generation did this much which is beyond the imagination, we are passing this matter to the next generation'
lol lol
