If I came to the world again I would love you. I would search for you and find you, and still love you. I wouldn't swap heaven for one strand of your hair even, I love you for as long as I live

Just wondering about the part that states...(I WOULDN"T swap heaven for one strand of your hair even...) Is this correct? It doesnt sound quite right in what the author is saying. Should it read.....I would swap heaven for even one strand of your hair?.... not sure and don't mean to question the translator (sorry Marion) but I liked the wording and want to use it. So only clarifying!

Thanks

CENNETI DEGISMEM SACININ BIR TELINE (he wants the heaven, not the strand of hair) is not what he meant as i guess from the context. The right one should have been CennetE değişmem saçının telinİ--> he wants the strand of hair, not heaven

Anyway this is something that we native speakers get confused a lot

Thanks, İnci, I thought it was odd when translating it, but it is what he wrote!

I asked a friend to send me the song. And he sent it to me.

It's called "Cennet" by Ferhat Gocer.

On an EERIE note: Another friend of mine told me that he hates this song because there was an accident where a bus of 40-50 students were going to holiday and there was an accident. The song played right after on the radio... He said that God would not like such words. Is this true? Or did he make it up to scare me?

Sure God wouldnt like these kind of words, for He doesnt want ppl to love someone more than they love Him.(at least thatz so in Islam, not sure about other religions) But nobody can decide that the reason of the accident was the song! If that was so, Ferhat Göçer should have been dead now!

Regardless of how Ferhat is singing this song, below is the way it makes sense in Turkish.

DUNYAYA BIR DAHA GELSEM SENI SEVERIM ARAR BULURUM YINE SENI SEVERIM
CENNETe DEGISMEM SACININ BIR TELINi OMRUMUN YETTIGI KADAR SENI SEVERIM

he is not giving away a single hair, not even in return for the complete heaven.

How about this?

I would give up heaven for one strand of your hair?

I take it the author is saying he would give up everything for this person......in a nut shell?

I find the middle east music far more romantic than north american.
