its more like nervous eating for me .. the fruits and water you crave are to put back into your body what smoking has taken out. I have to fight the urge to eat something every time I want a cigarette .. it is reaaaaaaally hard .. the energy is also just nervous energy .. I have heard doctors say to take some deep breaths and that helps that part go away .. it hasn't helped me yet ..

nervous.. i guess i will get nervous...
yep, deep breath may help, i think.
if you focus on it, i guess

Yes you have to focus on it. The doctor explained it this way to me .. it wasn't the fact of smoking that calmed a person it was the fact that they took such a deep breath while puffing on the cigarette .. and it was that deep breath that actually had the calming effect ..

hm... might be... so just take a deep breath of fresh air..sounds nice

after all this is the nicest thing
hmmm... especially when salty, but it should do it anyway.
yogis are supposed to breath normally and deeply enough.
now, we needed cigarettes to breath... what a shame

I did manage to quit for 4 years and then my willpower gave in. I have to admit this is the worst habit I have ever had. They say it's like trying to get off of crack and I tend to believe it. Even though I quit for 4 years, I never lost the craving. But as soon as you pick up a cigarette, it feels like you have never quit to begin with. I did this cold turkey with no patches or meds. I would really like to know, how others have been successful. Oh, yes I do remember the sleepless nights, weird dreams and feeling sick to my stomach, so I do give you loads of credit for quitting.

thank you
I don't know. I guess you just have to replace it completely. If such great addiction (after 4 years i think it takes will to begin rather...but just assuming here...) i think it is important to understand what made you smoke in first place, why were you quitting... and there are all sort of treatments as far as i know... i am doing it cold turkey, too

I think the problem with quiting smoking is it is a combination of many habits. There is the smoke to play with. Blow it this way, make rings out of it. There are many ways to hold it that give you something to do with your hands. Then there is the general oral gratification.
I really don't think it's just the nicotine. The Indians added herbs to the tobacco, resulting in a milder smoke....and I don't mean illegal herbs. They added colts foot, chicory and some other things I don't remember now.

I quit seven years ago after smoking nearly 15 years. That was the best decision I have made.

I don't have a chance to quit, because I have never entered that dangerous zone.

In last couple of years, I saw a lot of people quit this dangerous habit. The people whom I would never imagine of quitting it.

No, actually that caused to arise another question. I once noticed that they moun "Oh, God!" while doing that job. "Oh!" is ok and underdstandable; but why do they involve "God" in the job?

You "noticed"? Hmmm...no first hand experience in that department? That could explain your occasional rants!!

I smoke, therefore, I am!

Hi my name is Leelu, and I am a chain smoker ..
it has been 7 days since my last cigarette and I have only killed and buried 6 people so far ..

You can kill and burry as many people as you wish, but only up to your next orgasm.

I just noticed this!!!
that will be a while for me .. hahahahahahaha .. back to killing and burying ..
