I've noticed recently Salahddin being identified as being Kurdish, but I think he identified himself with being Muslim first, not Kurdish. His greatness was in his ability to unite the Muslims to fight against the Crusaders.

Yes, there probably were 3 Arabs in his army too....The man was a Kurd, for god's sake !

Yes i've found it,his name was Nur-Aldin,and he was a Fair king not Sultan,even his name was the Fair king Nur-Aldin.
Later after Nur-Aldin dies Salahddin made his Empire,collecting people arround him with his kind manners.

Did you know that perhaps the worst enemy of Turks in history was Martin Luther? He actually wrote a special treatise to warn his fellow Chiristians against the Turkish danger and suggested ways to combat and destroy the Turks.
Very peace-loving man, he was !
In his treatise, he also noted that the Jews were just as bad. He claimed that Turks and Jews feel close to each other and both consider their own religions monoteist (single god), but secretly think Christianity is a politeist religion (with more than one god). What a shame !
