OMG..That poor woman. I realize she may have hurt some feelings but...WOW....seems like a severe reaction. I think a simple apology and removal of the bear would have been sufficient...

It is completely ridiculous. Many people are named Mohammad. The children chose the name. This kind of extreme behaviour does NOTHING for Islam at all. She sounds such a lovely teacher - her reward? Gangs of men waiting outside the jail to lynch her!

All I have to say about this is - can you imagine what would happen if the situation were reversed? A Sudanese teacher in England, threatened with flogging or jail because of a Teddy Bear's name?

Will there be repucussions for Sudan? Of course NO! There will be "polite talks" and "thank yous" and that will be the end of the matter. They have no religious/ fundamentalists/terrorists to fear!

in pure english way
as that english on youtube says: "we would consider, give it a time, if possible then agree on many points, just for the sake of temporary peace"

I think even if the woman makes it back to England, she will still be prone to attacks from the extremists in her own country.

It only goes to prove....no good deed will go unpunished!!
