Quoting thehandsom: Quoting E.T.K.O: I was watching this thread and i saw that it turned into religion fight between Christians and Muslims too like in every thread. If I say that all muslims are terrorists, so what CRUSADERS were in the early 1000's ? Don't you know that we'r making history every bloody second passed. The religion does not manage this world. There is something a superior thing than religion. I won't say what it is. You know it already |
I was just wondering when you would be coming back to the forums... |
Wanna have a dinner with me , just you and me ? Do not worry I will buy it

Nobody is saying that all muslims are terrorists!!!
Are you paranoid? Or unable to defend your faith in any better way than the above?
Also...why do you assume that all non-muslims are Christian?
Some of us firmly believe that ALL religion sucks.

Did i say all non-muslims are Christians in my post???
Did i defend any faith in my post ???
That is your inference about how you understood with my post.
I am just pointing an issue.

Hey, I wanted to be a historian once. The crusades were interesting and very painful to read about and I am American. They Byzantines wanted to survive so they manipulated the Pope, (urban II). Then came the tragedies.
And here we all are today. (I wish I could quote Ataturk but I don't know the right words)

Religion only sucks when bad things are done or said in the name of it.
All human beings are entitled to believe or disbelieve what they want. It's the way individuals conduct themselves that is important. It's immoral individuals (and unfortunately, some of these have power) who taint life. I bet there are even some really nasty non believers of anything out there.
I don't think ETKO was assuming anything. He/she was merely citing a part of history that is familiar/known. Unfortunately most media coverage about religion nowadays is about Islam or Christianity. But actually there was a news item on TV in recent days . . . about the persecution of Christians in China. It mentioned that the Communist government will allow Christians to worship in a church, on the understanding that they support the government. My view is (and I may be wrong) that religion and politics become entwined. Perhaps it is not Christians that the Chinese government is wary of. What they maybe wary of is the growth of a group of like minded people who may become a threat to their power status. In this case it happens to be Christians but, actually it could be any group of any persuasion. I think this is how nationalism develops too . . . fear of being 'overtaken' or losing power to a relatively new group of people, whatever their persuasion.
I have now donned my waterproof outfit and await the jelly and custard.

Quoting peace train:
Oh dear . . . I’m not taking my own advice and now I am rising to the bait. Seems you "assumed" I was attacking you.
I only said “I am not accusing you of anything here btw, I am sure your motives for being on TC are honourable.†Because I thought you may be offended my previous sentence and no offence was intended. I tried to cover all bases and it obviously failed. "motive" = wrong choice of word = peace train in the dog house. |
I didn't assume you were attacking me at all!! However, you post was directed at me, so I replied. I really dont take things personally here
Quoting peace train:
Not that you will wish to be bothered but if you do bother to look at my ‘post’ archive, the majority of it is related to learning about Turkey and it’s language. I use the language lessons too . . |
You are right, I really can't be bothered, but good luck with your Turkish language
Quoting peace train: In fact I have made some lovely friends on this site and learned quite a bit. But occasionally I like a different sort of entertainment and so I tune in to some of the threads . . . they are so much more entertaining than the best comedy TV has to offer . |
I agree - perhaps you should examine your humourless post and decide for yourself whether it is good entertainment
You are right about intonation and expression - read my post again and you will see that I am not angry - when I am really angry you will know it
This is the "best entertainment" so far You are the one lecturing people about how to use Turkish Class!! I will continue to go off-topic, have fun, use the wrong forum for my needs and wind up people like you for as long as I want
Quoting peace train: You are soooooooooooo easy to wind up. |
Apologies but I rarely get wound up by cyber life I love arguing on this site - it is people like you who seem to get wound up by it
Quoting peace train: Hang on . . . I’m putting my waterproof outfit on again because I fear I may get rock buns and flapjacks pelted at me now instead of jelly and ice cream. Pity . . . because I’m partial to bread and butter pudding and you won't oblige with such friendly fire.
Hey . . . we all use TC for whatever our needs . . . just try not to get embroiled in discussions that go nowhere . . . it's not good for the blood pressure . I note you have made many admirable observations in discussions you have participated in but there are people out there who get entertainment from cranking you up. Ditch the exclamation marks and smile !!!!!!! (oops)
btw the above paragraph is merely there as an experiment . . . so . . . if you felt your BP rising and an urge to hit the exclamation mark key . . . I proved my theory.
I’m off to make my own bread and butter pudding, so that’s me done on this topic.
Take care |
Again, thank you for your free advice on how to use and behave on TC - I am sorry I get your blood pressure so high I also apologise for my exclamation marks which seem to upset you - they are, along with my use of CAPITALS instead of italics, and my favourite "-" instead of ";" part of my wonderful literary style and I am reluctant to change them after all these years
I hope your post relieved you of the pressure that has clearly been building up in you for some time. Happy to oblige as always
Really - this site is so much fun - you should lighten up a bit and enjoy it sometime
