Quoting catwoman: It doesn't matter what you believe, it matters what you DO. It's nice to see a Muslim person mingling with non-Muslims, and being open minded, however, are you also one of those Muslims who turn a blind eye on what other Muslims do? |
Do you think its only Muslims who causes problems? it seems like that from what you say. There is also lots of christians, jews, atheists, who do lots of bad things, and use other people and their believes.
What do you want to hear or see? can you state me those one by one please?

Sui, of course there are christians and atheists who cause problems. The difference is that there are christians and atheists who will openly and publicly criticize that and won't threaten others with death who criticize them. It's not the case with muslims. There are atrocious things done in the name of islam, yet, any criticism of it is not allowed and I haven't seen any muslims getting angry about it. We have many muslims on this web site, yet, NONE of them ever said anything critical about what's going on in their faith. They ALWAYS excuse it by "culture", "wrong interpretation"... etc. No criticism ever comes out from them...

So . . . all the Muslims in the world visit the TC site do they Cat? You no a lot of Muslims Cat. what other Muslims do . . . hmm . . no I didn't turn a blind eye to the time the local Muslim community went into the hospital in town , on Arafat Day last year, and gave all the children gifts. This is something done every year by Christians at Christmas btw. Whilst the Mulsims also do it regularly it was the first time they publicised it because they felt Islam needed to be shown in a positive light for a change. Don't worry Cat, I realise you were referring to being blind to the bad things done in the name of Islam. The point is, as far as I am aware, Muslims do not usually make a 'song and dance' about it when they do good, it's only that it is not 'advertised'.
There are many atrocious things done in this world, by people from all walks of life. I have seen Muslim clerics and representatives of Muslim communities, openly say on TV that acts of terror in the so called "name of Islam" do not reflect the Islamic faith.
Cat . . don't "turn a blind eye" to positive images of Islam and, if you don't have any of these images presented on a plate to you through the TV/media then get out there and find them . . . they are there. Don't dwell on the negative images . . . these will drag us all down if we are not careful. There are bad apples in every barrel, whatever part of the world we look at. Let's not fall into the trap of believing these apples represent the majority. There is a lot of bad in the world and it is so difficult to know what to do about it and it gives ordinary people a feeling of being powerless. Maybe the future is with the ordinary people from all walks of life . . . making sure they portray a positive example of what they stand for/believe in. If people have positive experiences first hand then perhaps they will be more likely to believe that atrocities committed are the work of people who are not truly committed to their faith . . . whatever there faith or lack of it. The world's troubles are not down to any one faith.
It is so very difficult to answer statements such as Cat's because, from reading many forum discussions on here over the last few months, it seems some people have their minds set and are not prepared to listen. I am thinking again of the phrase "turning a blind eye" . . . it is easy to accuse people of turning a blind eye and it doesn't get anyone anywhere with regard to building bridges. Accusing people of citing culture and misinterpretation as some kind of excuse for whatever it is they are being accused of, is just as thoughtless. And yes, I realise there needs to be listening and understanding from everyone. That is EVERYONE.
If we allow ALL that is rotten in the world to set us against each other then there is no hope.
There are many terrible things happening in this world and it is so very difficult to know where to start to make things better. The rose tinted glasses are on again . . . yes the bad things need to be reported and addressed, but the good things also need to be reported or searched out.
Cat . . . once one person says something negative on a Forum, it breeds more negative comments and in no time there is a 'bun fight' instead of constructive discussion. That's how conflict can begin.
OK . . . I'm ready for the butterfly buns, jam tarts and chocolate rolls

Let me consult with my partner AEnigmaIII first...I shall be back with a conclusive reply.

A little bun fight now and then is fine as long as it doesn't snowball into a trifle. I myself have always held a secret wish to push a lemon meringue pie into someone's face . . . I'm not bothered whose face it is .
But perhaps some kind of TC peacekeeping force is required and you all need to sign up to the TC Convention. Many of your bun fights are quite humorous but I think every so often events take a turn for the worse.
May I suggest that, in future, you throw down your raspberry buns and each take 50 paces before turning and firing your profiteroles?
You might also think about 'chewing gum' . . . it starts off full of taste and is refreshing and full of promise but after a while it becomes tasteless and disappointing . . . it also comes to a sticky end.
I think you need a makeover . . . why not start another topic . . . what could be the alternative to chewing gum?

Dear peace train,
I am a born "nasty" and too old to learn new tricks.
If you only let me know your favorite pastry, I shall chose my ammunition with utmost care - next time you are in my line of fire....

I never accused you of being a garibaldi biscuit . "next time" assumes I have already been in your line of fire and as far as I know I have no crumbs on me whatsoever. My favourite pastry is a Manchester Tart . . . this is a pastry case with raspberry jam in the bottom, followed by banana and vanilla custard, topped with coconut and a cherry on the top. Assuming you hit your target, this would cause a mess so I suggest you stick to digestive biscuits . . . I'm a good catch and they will go nicely with my coffee, while I read TC forum entries .

I was watching this thread and i saw that it turned into religion fight between Christians and Muslims too like in every thread. If I say that all muslims are terrorists, so what CRUSADERS were in the early 1000's ? Don't you know that we'r making history every bloody second passed. The religion does not manage this world. There is something a superior thing than religion. I won't say what it is. You know it already
