This is what I criticize. Because muslims don't criticize it.

Yes, I can criticize your religion and I can give you reasons why I criticize and for what. There is a lot of variety in Islam, for sure, but there are very bad things going on in the name of Islam and I don't hear many Muslims rioting against it, like they riot against criticism of their religion. Do you see a problem with it?

It's not that you criticize, it's that the very disrespectful, demeaning and uninformed manner that you do it in. It's not an intelligent debate, you find very biased propaganda that takes quotes out of context and present them as fact. Many times I have sent you information regarding dscholars and leaders who DO speak out against the radical so called 'Islamic Fundamentalism', but you seem to dismiss them. At least, I see nothing that shows you pay half as much attention to them as you do to MEMRI material.

You know theology is a vast topic, not something that you can just do a silly demeaning little youtube clip about. In particular when they are sponsored by MEMRI. I feel what is done here is in fact very provocative. It does nothing to foster greater understanding and tolerance between peoples, instead what it does is inflame, hurt and divide people.

Alameda, the truth is that it's impossible to criticize Islam without being disrespectful. It's impossible to say the truth as it is without someone getting offended. Also, based on the past arguments - you dismiss all sources that say something that you don't agree with.

To remind you, I don't care about islamic theology. I only care about the actions of muslims in the name of Islam. And in all islamic places that I look at, bad things are being done in the name of religion and few muslims stand up against it. In the west, where there is freedom of speech - how many muslims say that saudi way of practicing islam is horrendous? that human rights are violated in unimaginable ways? same with Iran, same with Africa... The answer is none or very few who are persecuted in the muslim communities.
Examples are countless.

There are diplomatic methods and provocative methods. One can question, or criticize based on ones perception based on propaganda. Or, one can do serious research and question based on knowledgeable research. What do you do? You make fun of Muslims arranged marriage. Make fun of women who cover. You come from a different culture and don't understand, but instead of trying to understand, you make fun and post demeaning posts. What is the purpose of that? What do you think the outcome of that will be?

Open your eyes and look at the world around you. Do you think inventing and using horrible ways to kill people like napalm, white phosphorous, and the many hideous ways to immobilize and kill people is any better? Why don't you speak out about that, instead of persecuting further the current victims of those atrocities?

I don't make fun of arranged marriages, I just say that they are horrible. And I cannot comprehend why you don't say the same thing - if you claim to be so humanistic. I do not condone traditions, just because they are traditions, ok?

Now you are twisting the argument again. Victims of western violence is one thing, and victims of muslim violence against themselves and others is another, ok? Right now we are talking about the second one.

Well the fact is most arranged marriages work out quite well. Given the state of marriage in the West, I really don't think you have anything to talk about. You really don't understand the process, so you think it's horrible. The fact of the matter the West is actually starting to change and we now see a proliferation of match making services and sites. Some are "high tech" some are not, but the process is the same.

You're not the only one that cricitizes islam.
I m living near the seaside, we also discuss about islam in respectful way. For example they keep asking me, do muslims marry 3 times. etc. I explain them everything. I think this is what the respect is.

You can cricitize Islam without being disrespectful
Even the youtube videos,i have never seen a person that says;

"Thank goodness that I am NOT killing innocent people in the name of administration because they left the web site, or criticized me, or god-forbid had sex before marriage, or held hands in public!"

and names it as "cricitism".

Actually, I read some statistics (I will quote them when I find) that there are more victims of muslim violence against each other then western violence in muslim countries.
At the same time, of course invading the middle east for oil (yes, for oil, not for religion) is despicable and contemptible. And Bush and Blair had to lie to the public to be able to do this. Still there were and are protests against it. It's absolutely despicable.

The problem is that you are using the west as an excuse for your own problems.

So what do you say about those men who do marry 4 times and who marry 9 year old girls in muslim countries? Yes, they probably don't do it in Turkey very much, but in some countries they do... because prophet Mohammed did it. Do you approve? Or do you criticize it?
