I'm totally in! I couldn't understand why this particular forum was closed. If chat talks are allowed on TC then what was wrong with poetry? :-S

if the aims of this site is teaching turkish and introduce turkish custom ,i think literature is the best mirror to see and know a society..
whenever i write something in slang our mods see and delete it also warn..but its sooo strange ..none of them interest...
if der is a renewal,it should be better ..if its not better it can not be a renewal...i want old poetry part...i wana open new threads and add sth else..do we have to agree,or disagree with them? i mean they just want us to comment...i dont wana comment..i wana do sth..

i believe that literature and poetry is important in any language, especially when learning a new one.
if people are able to read interesting pieces from turkish writers they will not only be improving their general knowledge in regards to turkish literature but also gaining a greater interest into literature as a whole.
a great extra for any site yani.
haydi adminler..! işinize bakın bakalım...
(look, i used no abbreviations or slang here.. you owe it to me i think hihi)

I wonder...was poetry and literature forum's quality lower than those translation requests' we see here every day?
The only thing turkish society has to demonstrate is those ambitious young lovers? If somebody reads the translations forum, he ll get the idea that turkish people are a bunch of zigolos, trying to hunt and use western women.
I know well that Turkey is not that. It has a lot more to show. Literature, poetry, arts are fields were turkish people have created miracles. It's a pitty to put them aside, just for the sake of development. What development by the way? All those terrific poems were deleted, or moved to the general/off topic forum and Tarkan came to take their place? Cause that was the only thread opened in the 'new' literature and poetry part until recently!
I start to believe that we, the simple members of TC, and foreign in our majority, love and appreciate Turkey and it's culture more than the creators of this site. And their absence is sad and disappointing...

Poetry and literature have a huge part to play in any language - and since there are so many on this site who obviously appreciate all aspects of lanuguage - it seems a great shame not to allow new posting of both poetry and literature. This is a pity since there are many who want to share their love of poetry both old and new.

Bilmezler yalniz yasamayanlar,
Nasil korku verir sessizlik insana;
Insan nasil konusur kendisiyle;
Nasil kosar aynalara,

They don't know,
Those who don't live alone,
How frightening is
Soundlessness;
How a person talks to himself,
How he runs to mirrors,
Hungry for a soul,
They don't know it...

Hello guys,
Maybe this is not right to post this here but I couldn't resist myself do not do it. It is shame I think to have this on the 4th page of "OFF-TOPIC"
I loved you and this love by chance,
Inside my soul has never fully vanished;
No longer shall it ever make you tense;
I wouldn't want to sadden you with anguish.
I loved you speechlessly and wildly,
By modesty and jealousy was stressed;
I loved you so sincerely, so mildly,
As, God permit, you may be loved by someone else.
***
I would tell you today
That you are the one that fills my life
Whose smile I cannot wait to see
Whose arms I long to have wrapped around me
Whose lips I live to kiss
Softly, passionately, in every way.
I would want you to know
That you make my heart skip a beat
You fill my soul with contentment
You brighten my dark skies
You fill my days and nights
With stars, hopes, and cascading dreams.
I would want you to see
How beautiful the world looks with your eyes through mine
Your eyes light up the sky
Your touch paints the Heavens
Your kiss creates amazing rainbows
Of beauty, sunshine, and life.
I would want you to understand
That I have always loved you
Before I knew there was you
Before our eyes ever met
Before I found in you
Happiness, completeness, and passion.
If there were no tomorrow
I would tell you
That you are the greatest gift in my life
Whose love I cherish above all else
You sustain me with
Your laughter, love, and friendship
Before there was no knowing
I'd tell you I love you infinitely,
Without boundaries, and beyond time
Or this one on 6th page of " OFF-TOPIC"
Do you think it is fare enough?
I am sorry it was little long

kaybetmek ve fethetmek arasındaydın
hiçlik ve herşey gibi
zıtlıkla ortaklık
siyahla beyaz
fenerle cimbom gibiydin
sabah güneşi
akşamın ilk karanlıgı
yada yeni bi hayatın
ilk günü gibiydin
ne oldugunu ben bile bilmiyordum
tıpkı senin bilmedigin gibi
sevdigimi biliyordum
deli gibi
yetmez mi?
YOU
you r between conquering and losing
like everything and nothing
opposition and agreement
black and white
fener and cimbom
u r like morning sun
first darkness of the night
or first day of a new life
i even dunno wad has happened
so do you
i would know that i love you
like mad
is not it enough?
forgive my mistakes

"But, with the help of my friends, I will know that I have to come here if I want to read some poems for my soul and heart."
You are right , my dear Mella. I feel the same. And I think we have to continue our postings. Doesn't matter where we can found our lovely poems and translations. Let's work together and prove that learning the language is not only about the translation of the SMS and e-mails. This is not the translation service site. I don't think Admin was thinking about this when he got the inspiration to open this lovely site. Culture, literature, arts are very important part in educating our lovely young members.
I look forward to see articles, poems why not even jokes in TC. By the way did you know when you understand the joke in foreign language, it means u know that language then.
I've noticed that we stopped posting essay's as well. Why we don't share them anymore. We have so many great ones here. And I think we can inspire people to write them and have a contest and translate the best one into Turkish.
And one more thing (it is my opinion only) reading about private lives of our classmates is not very interesting thing. We have here the private message part where we can share that if we want to but not in public. Maybe I am wrong but I will never do that.
www.freetranslation.com -- there are so many sites for the translation, people can use them for free like this one.
With best regards Bliss.

Dear friends
No poem is too long or too small.
The poetry is never too far or too close.
No matter where it is posted, for poetry lovers, poetry is always on the right place – in their souls and their hearts.

Talking about 'development', here is a poem, dedicated to those who banned us from posting in poetry forum, in the name of this site's development...
UNDERDEVELOPED
To fall behind; in science, in art, leafless
And without blossom in the spring; an aching star
Imprinted on the forehead.
To fall behind; doomed to the wooden plough
When you could cut through steel like paper
Vanquished in time.
To fall behind; buried in the caves of religion
Hands to your flanks and starved, against the torrent
Against the others.
To fall behind; fear men as one fear jackals
Where one could live in brotherhood, to grasp
At snakes instead.
To fall behind; ignorant and louse-ridden
Tight as a bow within a sombre gorge;
To break loose with that impetus!
OKTAY RIFAT
Translated by Nermin Menemencioglu.

ROBINSON CRUSOE
Robinson, my clever Robinson
you don't know how I envy you.
If you could only show me your island,
there I would find peace of mind.
I'll be the ship, you be the captain.
We can unfurl the sail one morning.
The sea becomes our shadow in the sun.
The journey. And suddenly we're at our island.
I wish you could be my interpreter,
introduce me to the fish,
to wild birds and flowers,
say to them about me: `He's one of us.'
I know how to climb trees.
I can tell a fruit that's ripe.
I can also manage breaking stones,
making fires, cooking food.
Robinson, understanding Robinson,
if your island hasn't sunk yet
take me there
before the seaways close.
Cahit Sitki Taranci (1910-56)
Translated by Mesut Onen and Richard McKane
