 Ali was here.  He came to the house.  I had no news. I sent him away. He went.

My attempt - I couldn´t get anything about malicious gossip out of that.

Thank you very much lady in red.  I tried translating with the use of the dictionary online and it gave me this:

 kovmak = to drive someone away - kovdum - I drove (someone) away

But I learnt a new word today with ´kov´ - thanks! (and kov etmek is ´to gossip (in a nasty way)!

Lady in red.. good try.. except, Haberim yoktu means, I didn"t know it.. the second thing, i don´t know what the dictionary says, but as a native Turkish speaker, I have never used the word KOV as in gossip, nor heard of it.

 So here it would mean - ´I didn´t know him´?
