I tried to make up the following grammar-rule. Is it correct?


Someone translated the following sentence for me:

Thank you very much for the papers you sent about the Ki-suffix. »»

Ki bağlacı hakkında gönderdiğiniz belgeler için, çok teşekkür ederim.

Now i tried to make the following rule:

the [noun] [..someone..] [verb]
the papers [noun] you [someone] sent [verb]

Can be made like this in Turkish:
verbroot + dik + personal suffix - followed by the noun:

Gönder + dik + iniz - belgeler
Gönderdiğiniz belgeler » the papers that you sent.

Is this rule correct? How do we call this type of verb?

If it is correct, then are the sentences i made with it ok too?

The books we brought
Getirdiğiz kitapları (should kitaplar have the ı in such a case?)

The apple you ate
Yediğin elması

The jeans they bought
Satın aldıklar kot pantolonu

Sana Izmir'de çektiğim resimleri gönderdim
I sent the pictures I took in Izmir to you.

Verdiğiz hediye beğendin mi?
Did you like the present we gave?

The package I sent didn't arrive
Gönderdiğim paket varmadı

When should i put the noun in accusative state in this kind of constructions?

I understand your confusion Deli_kizin. Turkish relative clauses are a real pain - they seem quite logical the the very beginning but then problems appear. If anybody could tell me if I understand it right, I'd be grateful.

First of all, you need to set up an adjectival phrase, for example, the aforementioned gönderdiğim paket and then you need to use it in a sentence like you would with any simple noun in its place. So, if you mean The packet you sent hasn't come yet, it would be Gönderdiğin paket daha gelmedi where gönderdiğin paket is a subject and takes no suffix. However, if you use a relative clause as an object, you have to remember to add the direct object suffix, as in Gönderdiğin paketi daha almadım (i.e. onu almadım). When used in the dative case it becomes Gönderdiğin pakete bakayım (ona bakayım).

What I still can't understand is when to use -ler and when I can treat a phrase as the third person singular. My book gives the following example:

Onların yediği balık taze değildi

Why is it yediği not yedikleri? Is it because the word 'fish' is singular here or is it because the plural form onların is already used? If it weren't there would it be correct to say yedikler balık taze değildi?
