- Öyle söyleme. ("O şekilde konuşma" could be better here)

A) MY FATHER IS IN HOLLAND SINCE 30 YEARS.

This sentence in English carries information only on the location of the father since 30 years. Whether he lives there, works there or is in prison is open to speculation. That information is simply not there.

The necessary, sufficient and correct translation would be
BABAM 30 YILDIR HOLLANDADA. Not a word more, not a word less!

B) WHAT IS WRONG?

One of the translations offered reads SORUN NEDİR?, which would translate into English as WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?

The fact that you may have a problem however, does not necessarily imply that something is wrong. Hence WHAT IS WRONG? and WHAT IS THE PROBLEM? are not exactly identical.

The first is a query into the nature of an error, a mistake....the latter is a query into the nature of a problem.

thank you for your comments on my translations. Are you missing the old days when we had some killer arguments or are you just bored?

I think my translation is a good one. Of course feel free to think that yours is superior to mine.

The English sentences are not very well constructed. It will lead to mistakes keeping yourself limited to them.

Therefore I tried to reconstuct a possible dialogue that could have existed in Turkish. This is why in some small nuances my sentences don't match the original ones.

"My father is in Holland since 30 years." This is not correct. The correct sentence will be "My father is in Holland for 30 years."
If you mean he lives there then better to use 'lives' instead of 'is' -- "My father lives in Holland for 30 years."

It would be better English to say -
'My father has lived in Holland for 30 years'

or

'My father lives in Holland - and has done so for the last 30 years'

or

'My father is in Holland for 30 years' - meaning he is going to be living in Holland for 30 years.
