 Things are not any better, I am from the US, so our cultures are trully worlds apart.  I figure once all the goo-goo-ga-ga feelings are starting to fade there will be some heads butting. I am hoping being married to him does not require going back to 1950s. {#lang_emotions_sad}

 Well.. to be honest, if his family are traditional, that is EXACTLY what you will be doing.  Women are expected to take care of childcare, the house, cooking and MOST IMPORTANTLY, take care of all the needs of their husband

Like I said though, maybe his family are not so traditional...

 One of my Turkish friends - who I love dearly - changes into some sort of oligarch when at home. I have actually seen his wife bring him out a choice of socks and belts in the morning!!

She is responsible for everything in the home (except shopping because then she would be going somewhere on her own) and must ask permission to go anywhere. It took me 6 months to get permission from him to allow her and the children to use our garden when we weren´t there so she could sunbathe and swim.

He is not like this around western women!!!!

Maybe your husband will not expect you to take the role of the traditional Turkish wife?? Who knows: maybe you should ask before the tiny tots arrive?

Incidently, has he asked YOU what you expect from HIM?  Why is it his decision what happens in your marriage?

 Is not his decision and so far poor soul is been almost perfect.  I just happen to know another couple who are american and turkish who are now having issues.  Me, I am playing on the cautious side the more I know, the better prepared I will be.

 There will be no tiny tots until this woman is convinced that she can be at least content if not happy with the marriage.  Right now I am very happy but than again we´ve only been living together for the past 10 months.  So far I´ve gone out and had fun with the girls.  As long as he knows with whom am I going he is all right.  The only thing I noticed is that he is a neat freak but he does not lift a finger.  Other than that he is awesome and he cooks good food.{#lang_emotions_satisfied_nod}

 Do you ask him who he is with and where he is going??  If not why is he asking you?

 No I do not, but then the truth is I could care less.  I have to trust him, even if he did something stupid I hope he knows he is on my teritory, my city and I will find out and I don´t believe in second chances.  I don´t care if he asks me where I am going either because I haven nothing to hide.  As long as he does not dare to tell me not to go he is safe.  A
