Quoting Kadir37:

• Always open her car door for her. She will expect you to and if you don't she may hold it against you.
• When at a restaurant always pull her chair out for her when you get to your table.
• Always help her put her coat on. Before you help her always say, 'Here, let me help you with your coat.'
• When walking with a woman on the sidewalk, always walk with you being closest to the street. This is to protect her from any traffic that may wander off the road.
• If she smokes, always light her cigarette for her.

Well, if anyone does all the above to me, he has NO CHANCE of a second date. I m not disabled for God's sake! As for the cigarette lighting, oh it drives me crazy when it happens more than once.
But if we "click" with the guy, then I d never say no to a cigarette lighted from him, in his own lips and offered to me afterwards

After... dinner, yes! But it's not appropriate to say here what the main dish and the dessert is

Ooo Deli_Kizin, our wise Dutch classmate , you always make me see a good point that I missed! Yes, of course you are right, I can see that. All of it (including sounding like a healthy trend-magazine !!!) Hey! Maybe you could have your own chat-show!! You could be the next Oprah - just think of all that money . (can I be your PA?)
BTW - went to Netherlands for the first time last month - LOVED IT! sorry - a bit off-topic, but no more than baklava

Hehe thanks Yeah you can be my PA, because first you have to miss a point before i can talk about the missing point

Awww where did you go? PM me before we go too much off topic hehe

I'm with Sophie on this one! Too much politeness can be a turn off!! But for me politeness means:

1) Saying please and thankyou
2) Opening the door for you
3) Not swearing or being obnoctious
4) Not forgetting what you drink
5) Commenting on your appearance (in a favourable way of couse!)
6) Not oggling other women when you are out together
7) Not standing with his back to you when in a group of people

In a nutshell for me politeness is just respect for another human being and it works both ways
