Please don´t presume to tell me what I think
Unlike you and Christine (who assumed I had never worked for the NHS) I never presume, I just read your posts. I see nothing in my "summing up" which was not taken directly from your posts canim
“Oh - I only worked in the NHS for 20 years - I thought I saw a lot of foreign House Officers - and a lot of native British doctors having to seek jobs abroad because there were too many junior doctors after too few jobs”.
"I never thought of that being the reason. We are so used in the UK to employing doctors from all over the world in our hospitals and it seems to be the same for most ancillary medical staff - but then I suppose the majority of them trained in the UK in the first place "
"Not blaming the foreign doctors - just telling you a huge number of them get their training in the UK! "
"Yes they come to the UK to train, and a large number of them then return to their home countries - where, especially in the Indian subcontinent - they can set up in private practice with the added kudos of an MRCP qualification. I don´t blame them but don´t say they don´t get as much advantage from us as we do from them. And it doesn´t alter the fact that it makes it harder and harder for doctors born in the UK (of whatever race or creed) to compete for jobs because in recent years there have been too many doctors for the junior post positions available in the UK."
"What you read about the NHS and what you see when you work in it can be very different - however I don´t work in it any longer thank god so maybe I´m not qualified to argue with you! "
"Well I think Christine seems to agree with me that we might just know a bit more about the way things really are than you! "

You ARE bored aren´t you?? OK you win - I´m racist, referring to someone as ´foreign´ is racist, I have no idea what I´m talking about as far as the NHS is concerned, I´m out of my depth trying to argue with you, I´m also bored now and off to watch ´Doctors´ on BBC Prime

Referring to someone foreign is not particularly racist and I made no comment about that And YES I am bored and at work waiting for silly ghost hunters to finish checking out the building and really want to go home and eat something

Ahmmm..........welcome back...again dear TheAenigma
Ghost hunters checking your building? Hopefully you have gone home to eat by now.
OTOH (On The Other Hand)....it would be nice if some of those extra doctors could be sent here.

Unlike you and Christine (who assumed I had never worked for the NHS)
I did not assumed you had never worked in the NHS. I asked you how many years you had worked.

In view of the fact that in the past a number of TC ‘discussions’ have got completely out of hand and, in many cases, personal insults, abusive comments and bad language have destroyed the thread, we have decided to implement - and stick to - a zero tolerance policy. This means that any posts which, in the opinion of admin/mods, contain this type of language will be deleted without comment
Ouhhhhhhhh Trudy Trudy Trudy! You just confirmed to me what hypocracy that new rule is
thank you canim
Aenigma - I am so sorry to see that you find the sentence ´This means that any posts which,in the opinion of admin/mods, contain this type of language, will be deleted without comment´ amusing and ridiculous enough to repeat in the ´memorable quotes´ forum. I have therefore given it some thought and come up with a revised version which I hope will meet with your approval:
´This means that any posts - which in the opion of a panel of TC members selected to represent both sexes, every nationality and all beliefs and who will be sent pm´s asking them to vote yes or no on whether a post is offensive or not - will be deleted on receipt of all the votes, based on a majority decision.´
However, as this may take several days and during that time a flame war may start which will mean all further posts containing personal insults/obscenities etc. will have to be referred to the panel for a decision - no mod or admin is going to have the time to deal with this so maybe we´d better all resign and let you run the site?

What a lot of work you went to unnecessarily!!! You completely misunderstood me I see.
The reason I put TRUDY´s post (note TRUDY´S not YOURS) into the memorable posts thread, was because I thought it VERY significant that a moderator of this forum (note: TRUDY not YOU) would highlight in red the "in the opinion of admin/mods" part of the paragraph and then post three " " afterwards.
To see a mod joking about the fact that she can choose which posts to delete was not a wise move and doesn´t give anyone much confidence in the maturity or fairness of mods.
Perhaps you should have looked at my post more clearly before writing your reply
Have pasted the post in question so you can better understand it Perhaps you will now notice that the highlights in red were not MINE and any issues you have with Trudy about this can be discussed with HER!!!!
Somehow I dont think you will be complaining to her in QUITE such dramatic fashion as your misguided post to me!

I told LIR to rephrase herself, but clearly.. she´s not as loving and sensitive as Tami was..
Truth is that there is a lot of House Officers - and a lot of native British doctors really should leave the country because there were too many junior doctors after too few jobs.
You guys are so used in the UK to employing doctors from all over the world in your hospitals and it seems to be the same for most ancillary medical staff - but then I suppose you did invade them in the first place, now you better make up for it.. by making their language the official language in the UK, and in return you can invade some more countries!!
And it doesn´t alter the fact that it makes it harder and harder *********** ************* because in recent years there have been too many doctors for the junior post positions available in the UK. (Sorry, this is classified information!!!)
