Quoting lemon

Russia is awaiting another food crisis this or next year. They lost millions of tons of crops this year. It may affect others as well, I mean globally, since we are all a big global village.

And of course I still wonder about the gold are being collected from people at a very cheap price. It started last year. Why? {#emotions_dlg.unsure}

Pay attention to whats going on.

What gold is collected at a very cheap price? Did I miss something

 They do, but the price you get for gold is higher than ever. More people actually sell their gold, but not for low prices. The gold prices have increased dramatically over the last few years.

It is cheap. There were a few articles in media exposing the gold scam mainly about Cashmygold etc. These folks were offering 2x lower price in comparison to those on high street. Of course the price has may gone up now thanks to sudden interest in it. Someone is buying it. I am asking why? Since last year companies that are buying gold have doubled. Almost every week theres an envelop pushed into my door hole with an offer to buy my jewlery (which I dont have at all).

Isnt it all strange? {#emotions_dlg.unsure}  The gold now has been collected from people.

 Oh, those kind of companies. Yeah, I don´t understand people who use those kind of companies. In Holland we have this add on tv, where the guy says "order this envelop and send you gold to us".... WTF, who does that? Maybe I should make an add too... "Hey people, send your gold to my house and I´ll send you some money back"... 1 euro is money too I think those companies have popped up recently, since they saw that gold was rising in price. The gold price has been rising dramatically since 5 years ago, so them popping up two years ago means they linked this trend in prices, into the stupidity (or economic need) of people.

Cash My Gold Consumer Warning

A recent investigation has revealed that companies that offer to buy unwanted gold are paying shockingly low prices. Consumers should avoid these gold buyers because they can get a much higher price for their gold elsewhere.

Which? compared four TV gold buyers with three pawnbrokers and three independent jewellers by offering to sell three brand new pieces of gold jewellery, in an attempt to find out which ones would offer the highest prices for identical pieces of gold. The lowest quotes were consistently given by the gold buyers that advertised their services on television.

The company that offered the lowest of all prices was CashMyGold. For the three pieces of jewellery that were purchased new for £729, CashMyGold offered only £38.57. The worst was an offer of less than £19 for 9ct gold bangle that had been purchased for £215. For the same piece, a jeweller offered £54.

The average amount offered by the TV gold buyers was about 6% of the gold’s retail price, compared to approximately 25% which was offered by the high street retailers – a considerable difference, especially for higher priced pieces.

Money4Gold claimed that a 9ct gold necklace that had been bought new for £399 was not real gold, and held the piece, demanding that the researcher pay £10.95 to have it returned.

You see folks? This is what I mean.

Gold is a stable good. Its price shouldnt rise out of blue. Somebody caused the panic.

I don´t think the rising gold price is a scam, I just think the companies are a scam. But consumers have to use their brains too. Why would you trust a company you can´t even visit, who don´t post the prices they pay on their websites? That gold prices in general rise now is a logical thing. The price of each increases when the demand increases. With the whole financial crisis, people are not trusting their paper money, their stocks, etc. anymore. Gold seems to be a better investment, so they buy gold... as more people want to buy gold, the price increases.

I simply pass.  {#emotions_dlg.confused}  You see nothing, as usually.  {#emotions_dlg.doh}  Thank you for the lesson though.
