I have no idea what´s been happening!

  1. The site has changed it´s look
  2. Thehandsom is back
  3. Trudy has gone.
  4. Elisabeth is an Admin!!!!! Woooohooo a triumph for the CGG!

But essentially nothing changes:

  1. The "genocide" issue is still being dragged up out of the bottom of the barrel.
  2. Translation requests are the same mix of "para" and "seviyorum".
  3. TheAenigma only posts in off topic.

You see folks? This is what I mean.

Gold is a stable good. Its price shouldnt rise out of blue. Somebody caused the panic.

Lemon you are confusing the rise in price of gold with the scam gold buying companies.  There are genuine reasons for the increase in gold prices, they are many and varied.

  1. China is buying gold in large amounts to increase its gold reserve.
  2. In times of economic downturn, gold is the "safe" investment.  People buy gold because it feels tangible and secure, even though it has a poor return.
  3. The electronics industry uses gold in circuit boards.
  4. More and more "ordinary" people are now involved in investment because of the internet.  Investing used to be an elitist exercise carried out via stock brokers.  Now anyone can easily buy shares on the internet and gold "feels" safer than, say, pork bellies, to the amateur investor.

However, if you want to continue with your conspiracy theory, please feel free to do so

I don´t think the rising gold price is a scam, I just think the companies are a scam. But consumers have to use their brains too. Why would you trust a company you can´t even visit, who don´t post the prices they pay on their websites? That gold prices in general rise now is a logical thing. The price of each increases when the demand increases. With the whole financial crisis, people are not trusting their paper money, their stocks, etc. anymore. Gold seems to be a better investment, so they buy gold... as more people want to buy gold, the price increases.

Very true!  There is a CashforGold "tent" errected in our High Street with the chavs all lined up waiting to get loads of cash for their "gold" but oh what a surprise their gold is practically worthless.  There is a bit of a difference between the 9 ct gold in a chain and the solid gold bullion stored in a Swiss bank vault!!

It should make no difference, whether you are selling a 9ct chain or a gold bar.  The price of gold is the same - per gram (unless it is antique jewellery in which case it might be worth more as an antique item than merely its weight).

Before selling any gold jewellery you should check out the current market price of gold per gram (they are fixed twice a day) and NEVER sell to places like CashforGold!!!

I wonder why "Turkmen" has suddenly been included in the TC lingo?  I have been on Turkish Class for 5 years and have not heard it mentioned before.  Alpha is using it in every sentence, in case we didn´t see it in the previous one, like a dog with a bone, he refuses to let go of it ... {#emotions_dlg.think}
