i think "uğraşmak" has a more stronger meaning than "to try".
i used to use it when i first started learning turkish, but i was told that it is better to use "çalışmak" or "denemek" for "to try".
but i could be wrong though

Quoting CANLI: Ama,çalışmak means to study, and to work too.
How would the one we are talking with will get the difference in meaning, and understand i mean to say,i try' not i work,or i study ? |
I thınk ıt would be evıdent for the context and the suffıx ıt takes
for example = to work (no suffıx)
To try /a/ type suffıx
Cheers!

Quoting CANLI: İ meant 'and so on' like
When you are giving examples for something,so at the end you would say, 'and so on ' like ect. |
etc = vs (ve saire), vb(ve benzeri)
also you can use 'falan','filan' for 'or so','and so on','approximately'
On kişi falan var - There are ten people or so/and so on
Falan (Filan) is a very common word.

I think "Çok geç oldu"="it became very late"
and "its getting late"="geç oluyor"
