And, if you want to use an exclamation like in "oh, i see" then you can use either "Hmm, anladım" or "Haa, anladım" or even "Oo, anladım." But I don't know if any of these exclamations are actually used in written Turkish.

* A translation for "and so on" would depend on how you used it in a sentence.

BUT: I think in the first sentence the word "daha" would help distinguish between the two sentences.
(1st sentence is negative)

So: In english you ask using "yet?"
And in turkish you can answer with yet too.

Daha öğle yemeği yemedim.
Daha yemedin mi?

Note that you can't say only "Daha?" Or "Daha mı?"

Ama,çalışmak means to study,and to work too.
How would the one we are talking with will get the difference in meaning,and understand i mean to say,i try' not i work,or i study ?

i think "uğraşmak" has a more stronger meaning than "to try".

i used to use it when i first started learning turkish, but i was told that it is better to use "çalışmak" or "denemek" for "to try".

It is not hard to understand which is the meaning of çalışmak in a sentence.. "work" or "study" or "try".

"uğraşmak" means the same thing for that like you said, and also gezbelle is right too. Generally "uğraşmak" refers on something for harder.

The meaning of "to try" is used with a verb. So you can understand that the main verb is "to try" and the other is theaction to try.

Problemi çözmeye çalışıyorum.
I am trying to resolve the problem.

Ahmet'e ulaşmaya çalışıyorum.
I am trying to reach Ahmet.

Underlined wordgroups are the actions whch you try to do.

By the way, the meaning of "to study" is a little different. It is not directly "to study". It is "to study yourself". If you are in school and teacher teachs you something, that is not "çalışmak". But if you are studying alone or just one of your friend helps you for your study, that is "çalışmak".

I think "Çok geç oldu"="it became very late"

and "its getting late"="geç oluyor"

He was late would be geç kaldı.
