It is ridiculous. If you believe a piece of paper can save your life...lol

what makes a prayer written on a piece of paper by a religious man less believable than a christian cross? It is merely a difference in religious beliefs.

Who told you that this is a part of Islam?

This is just one example of the many practices of Folk Islam in Turkey. Somwtimes these pieces of paper with prayers or Koranic verses on them are sewn into the hem of your clothes etc. Like the blue bead, or eveil eye, they are believed to have power to ward off evil.

Anyway You may believe whatever you want the cross or this piece of paper both are the same...
If you think your cross may save you from something... Believe in whatever you want I don't care...

People are entitled to believe in what they want... Its totally up to them, otherwise, it would be a very boring world, dont you think?

If you didnt care in what people believed in, why bother posting a comment?

There's no reason to put down traditions and things that other people believe in. If it gives them a stronger boost of faith in God then what is wrong with it? I think it's rather sweet that my fiance wears this neclace around with him, as I've seen quite a few of the muslim men in Turkey do. There's no reason to insult what others believe Karine...

Because people think this is a part of Islam... What people believe should not be misunderstood with what the religion is really. Already in this forum there is so many things which were said about religion and were false so I say that piece of paper is stupid and not a part of Islam.

just because you don't believe in it. It doesn't make it stupid. You don't hear those of muslim faith saying that wearing the cross of jesus is stupid. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, however when our opinion tries to mark one group or another as stupid then it becomes insulting. We do not insult the difference in religions as then we are throwing stones at glass houses.
